When was the last time a CFL running back had 20 carries in the first half of a football game? Saskatchewan looks like a team with almost no confidence in their QB.

Are the Als legit? They have been hot lately, but against Ottawa and Calgary (lots of injuries) and Saskatchewan (a bloody mess w/o Durant).

The Als will go as far as their defence takes them. Their offence has been okay but isn't going to scare anyone. The other thing that Montreal has been doing effectively, once again, is win the turnover battle. I would hope that the Argos can at least split their remaining two games with the Als.

I agree.... It's the Als Defense that the Argos will have to beat. I'm hoping that Ricky and the boys will be able to get more points than JC against our Defense. Of course specials and Defense will have to be in top shape..... No turnovers.

Was hoping he would play like Joe Montana instead of Hanna Montana against Montreal today....oh well.

I have to agree with the panel on this. George Cortez needs to take the blame here. Let the guy play and see what happens. You are not going to win much in the CFL running twice for every pass attempt, especially when you are behind in the game.

Crompton is a 50 percent passer who relies on Carter to win the Jump Ball. Montreal averages something like 11 points on the road. They beat a team that has lost its heart and sole in Darian Durant. Now way Ryan Dinwiddle out coaches Tim Burke on Saturday. No way.

The Argos can and should handle the Als, even though the Argos' D has given up - what? - the second highest number of points in the league (and that is a problem).

They have given up the most points per game but are exactly in the middle of the pack (fifth) in yards given up per game. The points given up per game is a bit misleading in that the Argos have fumbled the ball away far more than any other team and, I believe, have the second worst turnover ratio in the league. Add in some big gains by the opposition in the kick return game and that has put the defence in bad situations far too many times.

Have to wonder how bad this guy looks in practice if Cortez dumbs down the playbook to the extent he did against the Als.

This almost warrants a thread of its own, but here you go.

The possibilities for how the final four weeks will play out are incredibly intriguing. All three of the teams tied for first place control their own destiny as of now, but at least one of them (the loser of Montreal-Toronto) will no longer be in that position by Sunday. Hamilton could also lose control of its own destiny if it somehow loses to Ottawa.

As I see it, here are the possibilities for each of the three teams in the hunt.

Win all four games and you finish first, obviously.

Win three games and you are in the playoffs for sure, with an excellent chance of finishing first but could also finish second (if another team goes 4-0 down the stretch).

Win two games and you could finish anywhere from first to third -- first would still be possible, but all four Eastern teams would have to go 2-2 over the final four weeks. That would result in tie-breakers being applied. I have no idea how a three-way tie would be decided. At the moment we hold the tie-breaker over Mtl, Mtl holds the tie-breaker over Ham and we are even with Ham.

If B.C wins one of its last three games, there will be a western crossover team. The Lions are at eight wins now and if it is impossible for three Eastern teams to get to nine wins. If the Lions lose all three and all four Eastern teams go 2-2 to close out the schedule, there will be no crossover. That is extremely unlikely, but still possible.
