I'm guessing that Braxton and Laing failed their medicals. I hope I was wrong when I worried about Laing's long-term health after his long absence last year.

I think if a player gets suspended it is because he has to leave the team for a personal reason perhaps. Brandon Underwood has returned. Big surprise after last year's release over a practise mix up. He had some unpleasant twitter comments about the Argos after that.

I would rather have Jason Barnes return over Aaron Kelly.

Very gritty player....wonder what newcomer beat him out. I imagine he was let go early so he has a better chance to catch on elsewhere.

The surprises keep coming. He had some good stats in the games he played along with his play on ST's. But I was wondering how he was going to fit in as he's kind a tweener.
Ware and/or Issac would seem to have one side covered. Jones in the Middle and Greenwood and all his Canadian back ups on the other side. Sounds like the ratio did him in.

Is it confirmed that Greenwood is at OLB - i thought Mike Hogan's report had him at MLB ? - as for his "canadian back ups" - they are all more MLB types and doubt any of them would get to play OLB.

Is Vince Agnew in camp? I know he suffered what I thought was an achilles injury last season. He showed versatility when he played.

WILL position. With Rosamonda gone, probably only 1 to 2 cuts left with the LB's. I think Issac just beat Rosamonda out for the swing LB position. Matt Ware has bulked up and he's ready to play SAM

Indeed. Milonovich told Frank Z/Sun yesterday that he's happy with his rebound from the Achilles injury. A couple of new guys in camp are making the defensive backfield the battle-zone of camp so far

Is it normal for a guy like Rosamonda to be cut this early in camp even if someone was showing better?

Greenwood, barring an injury, has looked good at weak side linebacker, while Jermaine Gabriel is the incumbent at safety.

Thanks snowrogue. I think that's good news.

I wonder whether our expanded LB coaching staff has let us make these decisions a bit more quickly than usual.

I don't think that it is abnormal. It isn't like Rosamonda was an all-star.
Chad Kelly + Dan Adeboboye + David Ungerer + Damonte Coxie + DaVaris Daniels + Dejon Brissett = Unstoppable Force

Pretty sure Yurichuk has played both middle and weak side in the past...and usually looks quite good at either.

Pretty difficult to keep Jones off the field IMO at the Middle spot. But I could see Greenwood moving over to the middle on sure passing situations in place of Jones with somebody like Issac taking over at the Will.

I must admit, at age 33 & only having limited playing time last season, I really thought Matt Ware would have been released in the offseason. Maybe he has finally found a home in the LB core instead of in the secondary.

I'm not sure why it would be so hard to "keep Jones off the field" as he really didn't go that much in his playing time last year (one sack, zero INTs, zero fumble recoveries), though IMO he flashed some talent and I realize he wasn't playing full-time on D all last year; has the nice NCAA star and ex-NFLer resume, but it's not like he's shown to be a Sol Elimimian type so fare. IF Greenwood is a good fit at Will OLB, and Jones is good at MLB, then that's great, but if Greenwood is the more talented MLB he should be playing there, and get another Will LB; not sold on Matt Ware being a big answer either at Sam OLB - I had high hopes for him last year with his extensive NFL experience but another one who didn't show that much IMO (mostly playing in the D-backfield) - hopefully he has learned a lot about the CFL game and is now a good fit at OLB ?
