Cameron Dukes + Dan Adeboboye + Kevin Mital + David Ungerer + Damonte Coxie + DaVaris Daniels + Dejon Brissett = Unstoppable Force
Thanks for posting that. I was wondering what, if anything, the Argos are going to do this year for free agent camps. It seemed to be a well kept secret, or perhaps I am simply looking in the wrong place.
One oar still in the water !
Thanks ArgoRavi. I was also deeply concerned that the Argos seemed to be doing little in recruiting. While the article was rewarding in that sense, it leaves the concern that any club PR seems to have gone out the window in that there is so little coverage of Argo recruiting, which was key to the glory years of Argo attendance in the 1960s and 1970s. This is partly Rogers and other mainstream media's doing, but it also partly the club's fault. From other posts even the hardcore fans seem to be faltering in their renewals as the only information about the club seems 99% negative.
The Argos, as well as all CFL teams have similar recruiting routines each off season. Problem is IMO, is that the all sports channels in Canada have really, really expanded NHL coverage to the point that there is little or no rooming their telecasts to report items such as this.
Sounds good that Barker and the boys are out there beating the bushes so to speak. Never know when a gem will show up at one of those FA camps. I still think Jim Barker has quite a few contacts and friends in the NFL who have a good idea when a released player would be a good fit in the CFL. A lot of coaches care about the players that they have to release and if they think a kid has potential they will steer them to the CFL. They can't keep them all.

I just read how the BC Lions are holding free agent camps in the US, just like last year.
I see a Winnipeg Free Press article stating the Blue Bombers are leaning towards taking WR Nic Demski with their second overall pick in the first round. Might throw a monkey wrench in to Barker's plans for Demski, but it makes sense to me as Winnipeg now has veterans Picard and Bryant added to their O Line. Their present Canadian receivers don't scare anybody.
