    Riders grab two Canadians who declined practice roster spots with Lions

    Wow. Could be some really good pick ups by the Riders. I really like Guy (though was a bit concerned with his injury history) at the draft and Mrabure-Ajufo looked decent for a young player last season albeit very limited action. I wonder what Wally's thinking right now...............

    He probably doesn't have the ability to hide players, so he either has to keep them on the roster, or offer them PR spots. If they aren't ready to be on the main roster, he really has no alternative. We've seen it in Toronto the last few years under that same ownership.

    Jones has such knowledge of and respect for the Canadian talent pool. The Riders' NI talent/"depth" is league best and will help them kick @$$ on the way to an undefeated season and the GC. ;o) Meanwhile Wally has such a collection of Canadian talent that this is no big loss for him. There will be no whining from either team and one particular fan base about any so-called "ratio problems" there - both might start 9 or 10, 11, 12 NIs.

    I've read some Rider fans, who are in love with Jones and the new regime there and who will defend anything he does, claim that Jones' values the importance of "national" talent in the CFL so greatly and has done so much to address the Riders' situation there. I just hope they don\t run into any "ratio problems". ;o)
