    Eskimos Sign Chad Simpson

With Slaton gone and Steele injured, I was hoping the Argos would sign Chad Simpson, but the Eskimos got him. I think he would have fit into the Argos game nicely.

In light of John White’s season-ending injury suffered in practice on Sunday, the Edmonton Eskimos announced that they have signed international running back Chad Simpson.
Simpson spent the 2012 and 2013 seasons with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers recording 281 carries for 1,620 yards with 11 touchdowns.
The 29-year-old spent the first two years of his college career at South Florida before transferring to Morgan State. In his two years at Morgan State, Simpson became the fourth leading rusher in school history and set the school's single season rushing record in his senior year with 1,402 yards.

Steele should be back soon, and in the meantime our recruits (and Coombs) get some more reps. I'm happy with that.

Jones acknowledged the athleticism of Simpson as one of the main reasons why the team kept his contact information close. When scanning the free agent market for running backs, it was Simpson’s previous football experience that checked off another box as to why Edmonton needed to bring him in.
