    Tank Landry passes

This links to an obituary. Landry was a linebacker who I believe played for the Argos from 1987 to 1988 when he was traded to the Stampeders for the late Harold Hallman.

Very sad, condolences to his family.
Although he was with the Argos for a short time, it was very memorable. He really was a great hard hitting LB.
And I think he's still considered one of the best Louisiana Bull Dogs.

His star didn't shine for a long time on the gridiron, but it shined very bright.

    RIP

Sadly, this is the first I have heard of Tank Landry in years. His career wasn't a long one but he was one of the most memorable characters in the CFL in the 1980s when he played for the Argos, Stamps, and Lions. Sad to hear of his passing at such a young age.

His arrival off hamilton's practice roster around Labour Day in 1987 coalesced the Argo defence into one of the league's best that year. He scored a TD off a long fumble return in the Grey Cup after (iirc) Glenn Kulka concussed Matt Dunigan.

Yeah this is sad news. Loved him as a Stampeder. Remember being so excited when we got him.

Landry joined the Argos right around Labor Day 1987. The Argos beat the Ticats 25-19 and newspaper articles I've read online from the latter half of the 1987 season credit Landry's arrival as having a significant impact on the defenses fortunes that season.
