I thought their run game looked great against Sask last week. Without Willy, their offense looks horrid. And their defense looked gassed early in the 2nd.

Honestly, Winnipeg is also playing on 4 days rest, which has to be a factor.

Playing Brohm after willy got injured was just plain dumb, Brohm's arm is absolutely terrible......... max hall all over again. However Willy, IMO continues to prove that once you pressure him he's a deer in headlights, reminds me of Sunseri when pressure is on. Marve should have been playing but whatever, IMO the bombers biggest concern has to be their horrid defense. Hamilton is looking good, really good actually, offense, defense and special teams.

Ottawa could match last years total number of wins with a victory over BC in the second week!

Mitchell looks like he's having the dreaded sophomore jinx. As for Cato, 1 game does not a CFL career make.

No, but it's pretty darn impressive for a QB fresh out of college in his first CFL start. The last raw rookie I can recall playing like this in his first CFL start was Ricky Ray back in 2002. Not saying that Cato will be another Ray but he looked poised, calm, cool, and collected.

Higgins comparing Cato to Flutie is beyond laughable though.

The late scratch of dangerous boundary WR Jeff Fuller seemed to really kill Calgary's offense and demoralize the whole team. I doubt that we'll be so fortunate next week...

It would appear as if the tide has turned. But like I stated on the Rider fan forum. How much of these PI rules weeding out who can cover and who can't?

Perhaps, but Calgary usually has enough depth to plug and play any position.

In theory the Argonauts should blow 'em out of the water provided they correct their errors from last season, remembering the game is 60 minutes and not 30.

    Players to Watch
    Ottawa Ernest Jackson
A third-year relief receiver with the Lions in 2014, Jackson had a career night against the team he is now representing, with eight catches for 195 yards against the RedBlacks in a 41-3 victory at BC Place Stadium on Oct. 11. It must have made a big impression on the RedBlacks, who signed Jackson to a two-year deal worth $270,000 when he went into free agency in February. “I definitely want to have a big game, not just because it’s B.C.,” says Jackson, who had seven catches for 74 yards last week against Montreal.

Ottawa wins second game matching last year's win total. What a difference the new receivers (Sinopoli, Williams, and Price) with their experience and some speed make to the offence!

Damn the East is kicking ass and taking names so far. Can hardly wait until the Argos kick some green ass tomorrow.

Redblacks find holes in Lions defence en route to win

Henry Burris threw three touchdowns as the Ottawa Redblacks beat the B.C. Lions 27-16 on Saturday.
It's the first time the Redblacks (2-0) have won back-to-back games.
Burris led the charge is a strong second half, including a 10-yard TD pass to Ernest Jackson and a 30-yard touchdown pass to Greg Ellingson. Delbert Alvarado connected on a 28-yard field goal as Ottawa outscored the Lions 17-9 in the final two quarters.
Burris finished the game completing 23-of-29 pass attempts for 290 yards and one interception.

How important are new but experienced receivers Sinopoli, Williams, and Price to Ottawa. They caught 18 of 23 receptions from Burris: Sinopoli (9 for 99), Williams (4 for 82yards), and Price(5 for 43 yards). This means they caught 224 yards of the total 296 in receptions. Quite a change from last year's set of receivers who mostly seemed to be running in molasses.

Huge difference. Taking note for those that also claimed that Burris was done as a QB, and now feel that Ray is done.
It's us vs the rest of the country

Ham-wpg 78 pts. Tor-Sask 82 pts (albeit 26 of those in OT). Still, an encouraging indicator of what's shaping up to be a much more entertaining year than 2014.
