Oh, come on. Unless you mean they were generous enough to get him a game cheque after one practice -- that would resonate in the football world. Seriously, guys get cut after one game all the time -- it happens every week in the NFL. Kickers in particular are treated as disposable.
You're missing the point of my post. Barker works for Braley, so he is likely limited in what he can do. The current Calgary ownership would give Hufnagel far more flexibility and money than what Barker has. We're literally going into a gun fight with a knife at points economically from what I can gather.
I don't think Barker's approach has anything to do with Braley's economics. I think he believes that you bring in the best talent every year and take a run at the season with them. I think there lies the penalties problem. These players don't hang around long enough to understand the game and it's nuances. This is particularly a problem on defence. Hamilton and Montreal seem to be able to return year after year with similar players. Makes for better defensive performance.
Michael Palardy played well last week. I think you're right AV ..... MPalardy helps the team to tilt the field. I don't think this was Barkers choice , I think the kicker wanted to leave ..... Only time will tell.
I hope our offense won't need Alix that much next Tuesday.

Fajardo looks to have put up some good stats at Nevada-Reno, and looks mobile. 9.000 passing and 3,000 rushing yards.

We have Van Zeyl and King hurt, so two o-linemen make sense. I'm not as down on our DBs as some fans are so I'm not terribly upset with the mix of new PR guys.
We're probably also looking at Edward Whitley as a DB. I'm not sure why is listed as a LB; he played SS/CB in college and in his NFL camp appearances, and with a 4.39 40 he has/had enough speed.
McCuller has experience starting in the CFL...did you know he protected the blind side of Russell Wilson in college?
Chad Kelly + Dan Adeboboye + David Ungerer + Damonte Coxie + DaVaris Daniels + Dejon Brissett = Unstoppable Force
Don't mind Coaches stance on this at all, once you leave to pursue your "dream" in the NFL you shouldn't expect to be handed your job back when you return.
I'm sure the likes of Ball and Inman may be handled differently due to their tenure and track record with the Argonauts.
Love Cody Fajardo. Studly athlete, big guy, strong arm, loves to run, stepped right into Kaepernick's spot and kept it going. Nevada's coach invented the Pistol Offence so Fajardo's got the football smarts too. They used to call his type the "prototypical CFL QB". Can't wait to see him on the big field. Harris - Kilgore - Fajardo next year looks awfully sweet to me.

Don't know if we can really call it his third year the way that it was when Harris was in his 3rd year. Harris dressed every game for 3 years, and Kilgore has yet to dress. Makes a big difference in terms of actual preparation and experience. As a PR player, he would get zero reps in practice, even running scout team.
