Home Opener for the Ticats and they are going to be tough at home especially with C.J Gable back at the lineup.

It would be sweet to get the first road win at Tim Horton's Field.

With THF finally completed, I consider this yet another stadium opening the Argos must withstand. There will not be a sober citizen in the city of Hamilton on August 3rd.

It'll be a battle all right. I want to see consistently (controlled) aggression from the Argos: no passivity. This team can get the win.

Again, oh for a Levingston clone in the return game...

All depends if you're talking his first couple of years or last. He lost it pretty fast.

Chad Owens is still a very good punt returner. He averaged 16.5 yards per return on Friday. Didn't break any for huge gains, but I will take that average any time.

The game will be a sellout. They just announced only 700 tickets remaining. I'll be there behind the Argo bench watching the end of the undefeated streak for the Ticats at Tim Horton Field. This is going to be an awesome game. Gotta be better than our last game there, which was a snooze fest on Labour Day.

    Stadium opening??

You know that the stadium opened last year on Labour Day right?

Yes, true but in my view it "partially opened" on Labour Day last season....now with all the stands available, the environment will be considerably more hostil...in additon it is Hamiltons season opener. Again, just my opinion.

Good point. The stadium is only fully operational for the first time now.

I don't think the fact that the stadium is 100% finished is a factor. A long road trip in addition to it being the season opener does.

Doesn't seem to matter anymore who one has a a punt returner. The officials are calling the hand blocking so close now that almost every PT is called back for holding or the old illegal block call. I don't know what the answer is if the B of G's doesn't want to clamp down on Johnson and his crews. The CFL used to brag about their kicking game exciting returns which would off set some of the boring 2 and outs. Not anymore, the return game has become boring. To me the ST players are so fast now, and and can't be stopped anymore coming down field by the old cross body block, it is very difficult to maintain the "legal" hand block when a defender can just turn his back quickly to make it look like a push from the side or behind. The answer has to come from the top.

Yup. It all goes back to the officials not having a feel for the game. I'll add any roughing the passer penalty when you can clearly see the defender either pull up and still make light contact, or commit to the hit prior to the ball actually being thrown. How can a player that has commited stop himself?

I'll pick Argos over Hamilton, despite all of the nightmares that have occurred at times in the past in Steeltown, if only because I think Harris is a better quarterback than Collaros.

Now there's a statement to stir up some controversy ..... I agree but it should still bring some comments.
I will pick the Argos to win as well but it will be another nail biter I believe.

Under the current circumstances, I agree that Harris has outperformed Collaros to-date this year. However, they are rather different styles of quarterbacks each playing in a different offence. To make the statement " Harris is a better quarterback than Collaros" valid, you would also need to compare how Harris would perform playing for Kent Austin, compared to how Collaros would perform playing for Milanovich. That argument could go on forever. I will agree that Harris has done better for the Argos than Collaros has done for the Cats.

The game -- close with decent defence and offense on both sides. Hamilton will rush better, but the Argos will pass better. I think Argos can squeak it but ONLY if they control the Cats' special teams !

Calm cool Harris beats Hotheaded Collaros. We kept the right guy. Hopefully we can rattle Collaros. It'll be a great game to listen to in the car on the way home from Pearson. Insert F Bomb here.

My wife had planned this trip back to Calgary to see her uncle who at the time was just diagnosed with cancer. He passed a few weeks back but we decided she should have a good trip back and at least see her Stamps beat Montreal live on Sat. I just realized that I'd miss our game last week. Oh well love listening to Hoagie on the call.

IMO, Harris has both better mechanics and the stronger arm. They both deserve to be starters.

I'm concerned about how the Argonauts offence handles the aggressive play-calling of Orlando Steinauer for the Tiger-cats defence.

If the Argos can use Whitaker/Owens/Coombs as outlets for Harris effectively, they may be able to setup for their own play-calling. If they can't, it could get very ugly for the Boatmen.

Conversely, if C.J. Gable runs well early, the Argos may be forced to play the run a bit more, exposing a tenuous secondary to big throws by the Cats.

I'm fairly sure Brandon Banks will return a kick/punt for a touchdown. Hopefully it will be wiped out by a penalty.

If 50 shades of Rod Black does the game, he'll tell us that every Banks return will result in a TD.
