One oar still in the water !
I was just perusing the Depth Chart for the Monday game. No changes in personnel from the BC game. Only the opponent/location is different. The game is to be played at "Tim Horontos Field" -- I love it -- I'll take the typo to be a good omen,
One oar still in the water !
Really looking forward to listening to the pre-game show on TSN1050 with Mike Hogan on my commute home after a long day at the office.
Looking forward to listening to Hoagie once I rush my wife and her luggage to the car at Pearson. She's supposed to land at 6:40. But it's West Jet from Calgary and a few weeks back she was delayed four hours in Calgary due to thunder and lightning in Cowtown. Had to PVR the game.
Will be at the game today, hopefully a decent amount of Argofans got tickets and proudly wear their colours.
I hope Dave Stala gets a few touches tonight. Knowing how competitive he is, playing in his hometown against his old teammates would bring out his best.
http://www.torontosun.com/2015/08/02...against-ticatsEvery day for the past few months, Dave Stala makes the drive from his home in Hamilton to the Toronto Argonauts’ practice facility at Downsview Park. ...
He’s never shown his face as an Argonaut in Hamilton, knowing full well what he’s facing as the Ticats kick off their home opener in front of a sold-out house.
“This, to me, is really a preview of the Labour Day Classic,’’ said Stala. “Both teams are fighting for first place, both teams having to play their games on the road (to start the 2015 season). We play each other three times this year and this is the first one.
“Everyone knows the significance of this game. It’s very meaningful to both teams because you never know of the tie-breaker.”
Stala knows about the atmosphere and storylines, but is hoping to pen something new.
“The great story would be if they (Ticats) got their first loss (at Tim Hortons Field) against the Argos. That’s the great story and it’s one we’re planning on doing,’’ he said.
The Argos need to pay special attention to Mr. Gable who can make a lot out of nothing.
http://www.cfl.ca/article/dunk-all-g...r-ticats-gableC.J. Gable put his “all gas, no brakes” motto into action in his 2015 season debut.
Carl Junior put the pedal to the floor and didn’t let up against the Roughriders. He set career highs with 20 carries for 135 yards rushing in Hamilton’s 31-21 Week 5 win. There was no easing back into game action for Gable -- he came right out of the gate running at full speed after recovering from a hand injury suffered in training camp.
Like everyone, really looking forward to this one.
Pretty much all week long Frank Z has had numerous great articles on the key position featuring Zach versus Trevor.
It has the potential of being the game of the year, and we have had some great ones this year.
As Harris faces Collaros, a key to Argo's (and the team whose name cannot be mentioned) success has been Milanovich's QB development process.
Dunk discusses this in the following video.
http://www.argofans.com/newreply.php?p=65198&noquote=1Argonauts head coach Scott Milanovich has mentored some outstanding CFL quarterbacks, from Anthony Calvillo and Ricky Ray to fresh faces Zach Collaros and Trevor Harris. CFL.ca's Justin Dunk was on hand at Argos practice to discuss Milanovich's quarterback success as the stage is set for Harris vs Collaros on Monday night.
Here's the CFL.ca game preview.

That was just embarrassing.
What was Jefferson thinking, or not thinking.
Horrible.
A rookie International, Jefferson, not fully understanding the Canadian game and when the 5 yard rule on punt returns applies cost the Argos dearly. I hope this is not the start of something completely ugly. Of course, that has never happened to the Argos before in the city whose name cannot be mentioned.
Terrific play by Hamilton. I don't know if they were specifically targeting Jefferson, but testing whether our rookie-heavy team was familiar with all of the kick game wrinkles was a good idea. That was a nice learning experience!
