Sportsnet's Hazel Mae hugged the GM of the Jays before interviewing him. I think that speaks volumes.

Of course they didn't show her hugging AA before the interview on Sportsnet but viewers could see her doing so on the FOX feed.

I have an issue with a sports reporter on a major sports network hugging the GM of a team before interviewing that person as it shows that they have no objectivity which is what I expect from a person in that role. And it speaks volumes as to how certain teams are covered.

Mae hugging Anthopoulos was not appropriate at all. She is employed by Rogers, but not by the Blue Jays.

Personally, I don't see it as a big deal. People were caught up in the moment, it was a crazy night. I don't think a simple hug exposes "no objectivity" or some big revelation about Sportsnet. I also didn't see anything wrong with the interview itself.

I'm not saying there aren't issues with Sportsnet and some of their employees but let each individuals work speak for itself. If there is a bias there it will be seen. We all know there is bias there with some.

I hope for Barker's sake there aren't any photos or videos of him hugging someone from the media.

Why do people seem to be surprised by this? Rogers Sportsnet has had their pom-poms on since July 31st.

Really, Mae was always hired as the talentless Rogers Jays cheerleader. Do you think she was actually hired to offer Greg Zaunn analysis? People may not want to hear that, but what do you think? NESN hired her away from Rogers for a few years, but barely let her near the Red Sox broadcasts, presenting Bruins hockey from a studio desk. They must of realized in a traditional baseball market like Boston that she'd offer nothing to their knowledgeable fan base.

Let's not exaggerate about the virtues of CFL players. They're just like other athletes, just not paid as much as your average MLB players. You have your share of jerks too. Guys who could not care less about fans and hawk their Grey Cup ring 5 minutes after they leave the game. Not everybody is Pinball Clemons. I'm sure baseball has their good guys too. Remember a lot of MLB players don't even finish high school, especially players from Latin America. It's either a wealthy life making the majors or a life in poverty living on the farm. That's quite the incentive. I'm sure some will lose the money they'll make because they're financially illiterate, just like many in other pro leagues have.

They've had their pom-poms on since the day of the Marlins-Blue Jays trade in November 2012 at least.

Ok, that makes sense now. Also, glad you came around to Joey Bats. Now on to Game 1 of the ALCS:

Sportsnet is changing their name to Jaysnet next season. Five or ten or twenty channels all about the Jays. I think actually each Jay gets his own person Jaysnet Channel. Watch a Jay, eat, sleep, fart, spit, chew and then go home to Florida to spend all his not so hard earned cashmo.

Could all the farting around not trying to get home field advantage bite them in the arse now? Going to be difficult down 2-0 to a great team.

Haven't followed the Jays in many years but have enjoyed their run the second half of this season and into the playoffs.
I was hoping as a Toronto sports fan they would do well but after yesterday's game I believe they are toast, no miracle comeback this time, the Royals are a real solid team and can beat you in many ways.
    Life goes on!!

She used to walk around the field at Argos games before she left to work for the Red Sox. She really was hot. Still not bad, but that's what motherhood can do.

I was hot once too, but that's what fatherhood has dome to me...twice!
