Think about how this would have played out if the Blue Jays had made it to the World Series. What kind of dysfunctional organization has the General Manager's contract ( and the President's contract) expiring during the final stages of the playoffs. Unbelievable !

AA will end up as the Florida Marlins GM.

He started his career with the Expos if i recall was well liked, and its the same owner in FL.

And guess what the Marlins just fired their GM.

Now maybe he can write one on how to allow the winning run to score from first on a single to right field.

If I'm a Jays fan I wouldn't be so thrilled with the new President and his new GM. I see the Jays sliding down the standings as apparently these guys believe in bringing along young talent from the draft to the minors and then up to the big show. How can you compete with the Red Sox and Yankees in this fashion. Oh well good luck with the sod and these two sods.

Josh Donaldson Signs With Blue Jays

Josh Donaldson and the Toronto Blue Jays have avoided arbitration with a two-year contract worth about $29 million, according to TSN's Scott MacArthur and multiple reports. If the third baseman and the Jays had failed to reach a deal by Feb. 15, the two sides would have had to face an arbitrator for a second consecutive year.
Jon Heyman of the MLB Network reported last month that the reigning American League MVP was asking for $11.8 million for 2016, while the Blue Jays countered with an offer for $11.35 million.
With the new deal, Donaldson is getting a significant raise from last season. He earned $4.3 million in 2015 after losing an arbitration hearing against the Jays a year ago - where the third baseman asked for $5.75 million.

What's even more disgusting is that by baseball standards Donaldson is being grossly underpaid considering the season he had and his MVP award.

I enjoyed the Jays playoff run last season and I am a Toronto sports fan but can't argue anything that was said during this discussion.
Seems many people in Canada find Rogers coverage and promotion of the Jays nauseating to say the least.
The Blue Jays roster is built to contend now so the teams popularity could be short lived if they 1) under achieve this season and or 2) lose a couple of their stars after this season (which looks like it probably will happen).

Though the one reporter did come across as one of those typical Toronto-hating types from out west, I cannot argue with the premise that the Blue Jays are being overexposed across Canada. It started in 2013 when they had that busy off-season and was only amplified once they went on that run in the summer last year. Sometimes I just want to watch the Blue Jays games on mute so I am not subjected to the over-the-top stuff from Rogers.

Anyways, a very nice pitching performance by Marco Estrada today.

With no Cdn hockey teams in the playoffs and only a few compelling match ups in the first round Rogers will be giving the country BJ birdy down their throats until they choke on it to make up the ratings.
