Adidas to become NHL's jersey provider starting from 2017/2018 season

Adidas is the parent company of Reebok, so not all that surprising. There have been rumours that Adidas could also become the CFL's jersey supplier starting next season.
Could Adidas be pushing away from the Reebok brand ?

Remember that it used to originally be "Adidas Friday Night Football" back in the late 1990s. Will be interesting to see if Adidas restores their partnership with the CFL next year.

It's a European company based out of Germany, what would you expect? They were predominantly a shoe company in the past that have made North American football cleats for decades, and they've branched out to sporting equipment and clothing to compete with Nike, a brand which they fell behind in shoe sales in North America during the 90's because of Michael Jordan's affiliation them.

I've always preferred ADIDAS, and especially loved that old tri-leaf logo over the angled stripes that they now have. I hope they re-establish the traditional look of the CFL Football jersey that Reebok has destroyed with their designs, although the Argos and BC Lions have the best look of all the Rbk jerseys. Calgary's road jersey is horrendous along with both Edmonton's jerseys and the Ticats home jersey. That puke coloured Bombers jersey is terrible also. Besides BC and Toronto, Montreal and Ottawa's jerseys are fairly decent because they're not bombarded with ridiculous colour schemes on trims under the arms or above the numbers. Montreal's jersey was fairly traditional to their old 70's jersey, so the colour scheme which was the similar Bleu, Blanc et Rouge of their other teams, the Canadiens and Expos was always there.
