Both Palardys are playing tonight according to the depth chart.
http://www.thestar.com/sports/argos/...s-kickers.htmlThere’s no relation, although the joke around Argo practice is that they even look alike.
The big difference is Michael’s specialty is kickoffs and punting, while Justin wants to kick only field goals.
The differences don’t stop there.
Michael, 23, is from Florida and played college ball for the Tennessee Volunteers, and was recently released by the St. Louis Rams.
He kicks left-footed.
Justin, 27, is from Truro, N.S., was drafted into the CFL out of St. Mary’s University and played four years for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers and part of his rookie year for the Hamilton Ticats.
He kicks right-footed.
They begin their different roles starting Saturday in Ottawa against the Redblacks as emergency replacements for the injured Swayze Waters, who performed all three kicking chores.
Hopefully a good sign for the offence tonight, let's hope our D has also come to play!!
One of the best drives I've seen all year - no dumb penalties, consistent gains, ending in a nice catch by Elliott.
Finally, a game-opening TD drive.
I'm pretty sure that like most teams, we pre-script at least the first possession. Maybe we've finally found a script worth following.
Nice to see Chad give the Argos a huge lift!!
Laing gets a sack, giving Burris no time to enough. The Argos seem more focused than I've seen them all year, especially at the start of the game.
Ottawa might be on too much of an emotional high from the last two weeks.
Terrific to see Owens take that one all the way, but... I think I could have done the same that time. Feel free to cover future punts that way, Ottawa!
Chad Owens takes it to the house on a punt return! The Argos have come to Ottawa to make a statement to the RedBlacks.
Miles is starting at WILL instead of Yurichuk? I will pay closer attention...
Elliott took *two* unnecessary roughness penalties on that play?!
Nice gift for Ottawa.....WTF!!
Ottawa gets lucky on a tip and takes full advantage of it to score.
Spencer is looking good with a couple of fine catches.
Spencer makes another fine catch, shows his speed and elusiveness as he makes another catch and pushes for regular playing time on an ongoing basis.
Elliott snares the ball just before he steps out of bounds for another Argo TD! If the Argos can stay focused, this should be their game.
Incredible! What's happening to these two and out guys? No punts until 4 minutes left in the half!
Whitaker is doing a great job, getting close to 10 yards nearly every rush, catching several balls and making key blocks.
Best defensive game for the Argos all year. The soft defence that lets team march down the field at will has vanished. Let's hope the clock doesn't strike midnight in the second half and the gold-glittered defensive carriage turn into a pumpkin before the end of the game. But from what I sensed even at the beginning of the game in terms of focus, I don't think that is going to happen.
