    East is for the taking!

It's official now, Zach is done and so may be the Cats.

Do the Argos, Ottawa or frankly Montreal have enough to overtake and finish top?

Perhaps Ottawa....Montreal may improve a little with the changes they have made...as for the Argos, they need help on D regardless if Ray returns or not, but we all know this team will not be making any player improvements due to an non existent budget.

With an extra home game, it looks like the Red Blacks might have the upper hand.

Plus the fact that both their games vs Hamilton will be without ZC in the Cats line-up.

The RB appear to be firing on all fronts and especially with their current 3 game winning streak.

Creehan's defense would probably find a way to make Matthews look good.

for the final 6 games, Hamilton has 5 tough games ahead facing formidable defences. They also play BC.

No reason why they can't handle BC.

I think Matthews will surprise. He was thrust into a tough situation against arguably the best D in the league, with likely no reps in practice leading up to the game. But your point on Creehan is well taken.

Exactly, I think Hamilton will handle BC, but with aggressive defenses in Ottawa (2x), Montreal, Calgary and Saskatchewan, they'll have more than their hands full!

I predict Hamilton will split with Ottawa, beat B.C. and Saskatchewan and have a 50/50 chance with Montreal. That brings them to either 11 or 12 wins, and IMO will be good enough win the east.

    Damn..I hate saying that.

I think Hamilton will be trying to trade for a qb. Who they have left won't cut the mustard. Only Austin to blame there Hamilton fans.

Good think we kept Harris as Collaros seems to be getting long term injuries at such a young age. He's to reckless with how he plays.

Calgary wins it's second Cup in a row.

even if hamilton wins the division i dont think it will matter come playoff time. I can't see them making the grey cup with ZC regardless of regular season

This is based on both Ottawa and Hamilton having superior defences right now, and no new personnel coming in for our D.
Based on our 'on the way out' owner who has put the cheque book away and giving any competitive advantage away in the name of more $$ for himself.
So who knows what happens to any other games that have to be moved!

Our offense is inconsistent due to a number of reasons. Youth/inexperience/penalties, no running game, conservative play calling. I'm not sure even Ray coming back will help.

I hope for a split with Ottawa, but with both games at TD Stadium it will be tough.

In the end I'm hoping for a playoff game just so the young guys can experience it. Then wait for next year with new owners vested in the product and a new home to play in.

I wouldn't have stayed with Burris and this year that would have been my mistake I admit.
But in fairness the team did not have a plan B, like for instance our Argos with first Zach and now Trevor.
As well as Hank is playing and now possibly who knows an MOP candidate in the East since Zach is done, eventually they will have to find a younger replacement.

As for Matthew, he better step up as the cupboard is bare in the Hammer.

Same thing that applied to Hamilton also applies to Ottawa. If their starting QB goes down, all bets are off.

Hamilton at least has some cause for optimism among their backups, in my opinion. I don't see any in Ottawa.
