Idea: CFL Fans Flag
At the Olympic closing ceremonies, the Olympic flag is ceremonially passed from the mayor of the host city to the mayor of the next host city. It was donated by the city of Antwerp in 1920 and is now a revered part of the Olympics. Wouldn't it be cool if there was a "CFL Fans Flag" that does something similar. At the end of the Grey Cup it's ceremonially passed to a group of fans from the next home city.
Then that group gets to parade it around all year, wave it at their own stadium, maybe sew a patch on to it - and they hand it off to the next group.
One would have to think carefully about who you pass it on to - probably to some sort of slightly structured fan group, like Friends of the Argonauts, or the Box J Boys, or the Saskatchewan pep band, or the Ottawa log-sawing team, or whatever, so that it's taken care of properly, rather than just entrusting it to one specific person who might lose it or forget to bring it to the game. Plus if it's a flag, rather than some huge trophy or monument or something, people attending the Grey Cup can actually take it home in their carryon luggage :-)
This could be a cool thing to kick off next season. Imagine the CFL Fans Flag flying over BMO Field all year.
PS. Neat story about the original Antwerp flag. It was lost for 77 years because a member of the US Olympic Team shinnied up the flag pole and grabbed it. When he was 103 he returned it to the IOC! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Olympi...s#Antwerp_flag

mehhhh, kinda lame when they do it at the Olympics. The fan march is cool but this suggestion would probably be mocked til the cows come home.
