I always thought the Argonauts were the "Double Blue".
The two uniforms should be Oxford blue with Cambridge blue and white accents, and Cambridge blue with Oxford blue and white accents.
Note that white is only an accent colour, not a primary colour.
White is the traditional colour of road jerseys and home pants for all teams in football, and IMO we should not mess with that. I hate it when teams use colour jerseys as their roads (e.g. Wpg's gold jersey in recent seasons), and I love the contrast between colour jersey/white pants and white jersey/colour pants. I did not like the Argos' all-Cambridge look in the mid-1970s -- and even then they had contrasting white jerseys/Cambridge pants on the road.

On a somewhat related topic, I would like all teams to adopt the current "road" look as their home uni, as used to be the case in the NHL. Fans would get to see the opponents' more colourful unis at home games.

White as the colour of road jerseys was instituted when TV arrived and was only in black and white. White was necessary to differentiate the teams on a black and white screen. There is no tradition of white visitor jerseys before that, and that practice could have been ended decades ago when black and white TVs disappeared. And that's what I would like to see. Home and away jerseys that reflect the team's colours, not white being forced on every team. I like that the Blue Bombers moved away from white jerseys. White isn't one of their primary team colours.

Argos could have primarily Oxford blue jerseys with Cambridge blue pants (with white accents on jerseys and pants) and then reverse that for a second uniform, thereby restoring the original "double blue" tradition.

Personally, I don't think the Argonauts will be bold enough to do any of this, so they will remain the "blue and white".

Well, I for one, like their road whites. I was never a fan of the Cambridge blue dominated jersey, so I really hope they don't go to that.

So the tradition is only about 60 years old.

We'll have to agree to disagree about this. Contrast is necessary even in today's world of colour TV, IMO. Oxford and Cambridge is a beautiful combo with reasonable contrast, but other combos would be far less attractive (orange/black for BC, blue/red for Mtl). And besides that, I just like the look of white pants with dark tops, and vice versa.

    Seriously?

    My thoughts...

    The logo.
A choice between one of the best logos in professional sports (boat logo) and the letter "A"?
Some of you would actually choose the "A"?

    Uniforms.
When did the Argos second primary colour become white?

I do like the signature jersey although I would never choose any logo above the boat logo. I love the entire 1980's look but I like the current tailoring / fit of the modern uniforms. I would be thrilled if we had the 80's uniforms back with current fit. This has been my dream since 1989. Did you not like the 1991 uniforms? I would rate these as #2 to the 1980's.

The 1980's uniforms were great but to me the 1991 look topped them all, just add the boat logo to the helmet and you would have a winner IMO.

I liked them both a lot. I'd be good with either look.

Love the current design but would be okay with the modernized boat logo in place of the shield. However, the boat logo was tarnished for me a few years ago when someone either on this site or 13thman picked it apart by asking "why are the oars out when the sail is out and looks like a strong wind?" and now that's what I always think of when seeing it.

I like the white sail, and the modern alterations to the sail and waves, but the football in the boat logo should look like a football the way the original did. The white sail on the blue helmet does make it stand out more. The Cambridge blue representing the waves look cool too, and would add to the detail that the old boat logo didn't in contrast with the brown football and white sail. As a kid, I never initially noticed the oars stand out, I always thought the Argos boat logo was a peeled back football with the oars representing the laces. Still a great logo nonetheless.

The part of the old boat logo I liked was the orange/ brown football. That really made it stand out. If you use just the three main colours, I think it would get lost and not be so noticeable.

Haha that's my tweet to Sara Moore. They did use the boat logo variation in 1994 but not on the helmet or jersey

Even though they're only fan made, I like 'em. Especially the home and away jerseys, the third jersey will grow on me, but again only CFL fan made, so not concerned.

I do like the away and 3rd jerseys for the Stamps, take out the Black entirely and all 3 would be perfect.

Did a good job with BC's as well IMO.

I only like the third one. Reminds me of those light blue jerseys in the Anthony Davis days

I don't mind the first two but really like that third one as well. I first recall watching the Argos in 1976 so I have a real soft spot for those uniforms.
