What do you guys think? I'm not a fan. I'm sure it will grow on me, but I liked the big maple leaf....I was proud to show it being Canadian before.

Meh, doesn't offend me.
TORONTO ARGONAUTS FOOTBALL CLUB
GREY CUP CHAMPIONS: 1914, 1921, 1933, 1937, 1938, 1945, 1946, 1947, 1950, 1952, 1983, 1991, 1996, 1997, 2004, 2012, 2017, 2022
I also like the leaf one, but it's okay I suppose. It looks like they're using the 2016 Grey Cup emblem template.
I can live with it. The What We're Made Of video is awesome!
I like the new look. It's a simple message - a football and a (partial) maple leaf. Right to the point
Today's marketplace don't take to busy logos and presentations.
I agree, I especially like the fact that the League didn't just used archived game footage, but actually filmed some new content with the players.

It's pretty blah. It's as boring as the commissioner himself! LOL

I'm going to present an opposing view here to say that this new logo sucks and that I have no idea of how this new branding is going to attract a new generation of fans unless there is a lot more to it than the Commissioner said today. The old logo illustrated much more clearly that it was a football product and the large maple leaf proudly signified that it was a Canadian product. It's nice that the Grey Cup will be available for viewing in 150 something countries but the market they should be targeting is here. With all of the hurdles that this league has to overcome replacing the logo is the least of their problems. The new tagline and view are well done. The logo looks like it was designed 20 minutes before the Commissioner went on stage.
The old logo wasn't exactly causing anyone to beat down the doors, and the new one won't, either. It's a league logo, not a team logo. People feel allegiance to their team and they feel allegiance to the league, but they are not at the same level of allegiance IMO. No one cheers for the league. No one buys merchandise featuring only the league logo. No one decides to follow or not follow a league based on its logo.
I actually have a jacket with just the logo sewn on it. Must be made for an official or for the league office. But I'm a nut.
It's interesting that over the years, the maple leaf gets smaller and smaller on each re-design. The first logo was a full maple leaf and now it's just a little dot.

we are a new exciting, fast paced and vibrant CFL, don't believe me?? then look at our minimalistic simplified grey logo.

I couldn't of said it better myself. With all the issues that the league has had over the years...was the logo ever really a problem, and what's with the black and white, it looks like a logo that would've be painted on those striped endzones in the 1960's? Is Geoffrey Orridge trying to say that acid is making a comeback with this circa 1960's logo.
Bring back the helmet with the maple leaf that says CFL inside of it...that was instantly recognizable. The one they developed was ok and was not even around long enough for fans to say that it looked old. This logo change is totally unnecessary imo.
maybe he's taking the view that it will be a classic in the future, just like this NHL logo which was maligned for it's simpleness as if drawn by a 5 yr old in that same 20 minute time frame...nice colouring though.

I hope that smaller and dwindling maple leaf is not symbolic of what the league would like to do to its' Canadian content. If it is, then this league is in trouble. Also heard on Marsh and Milton that they may want to integrate American officials. How could this be good if the game they officiate is totally different?
This Orridge era is off to a real bad start, from diminished TV coverage , to diminished ratings ...this has been a disaster. It's as if the league is trying to kill its' heritage with this Commissioner hiring and if that's the case, his off to a terrific start.
Alright, the buzz word is too attract new fans with adapting to the tech age, I get it, but if you don't attract new fans with these oddball logo changes and other changes, then you risk alienating your dedicated fan base. How is that smart business? I know some may say you'll never lose those longtime fans, but is the CFL really in a position to take their longtime fanbase for granted and throw them out with the bath water that stems from all these mindless changes imo.
To me, it's a whole lot about nothing.
It's us vs the rest of the country
I found this interesting - here's a list of who's who in the new "What We're Made Of" video

(Also, not mentioned above, the generic cheerleaders you see in a few spots are members of Argos Cheer.)

I don't agree with this corporate boring looking white bread CRAP!!! They screwed around and made the yearly Grey Cup logos boring with no sense of individuality and now this. The CFL logo shows our brand of football that we all love. This logo shows that a 12 year old can create a CFL logo. It's a piece of SHITE in my eyes. Why have a tiny half maple leaf? We are Canadian and nothing shows that more than our MAPLE LEAF. I hope the uni's don't go all to steaming pile of crap along with this. I still love the original followed by the helmet.
Does the NFL screw with it's logo? I'm proud to be a CFL fan and have the now old logo sticker on our new car.
