Braley did this 2 years ago, and the charity had a phenomenal sale at 2 locations (Richmond Hill and Markham). I was able to get lots of good stuff. I'd love for this to happen again.

Sent an email to Real Sports regarding the Argo merchandise they have online:

Hi, when is the New Era Toronto Argonaut merchandise all going to be available. Other teams have all kinds of new merchandise available such the new New Era golf shirt. I would have liked to get a number of items before the opener. For example look at what the B.C. Lions have had available since the jersey reveal.

Here is the reply I received:

The products currently available online are all available.
We do have some more products in venue but are not ordering new products at this time.

No matter how you look at it, it is very disappointing especially when you look at every other teams merchandise. Cannot even customize a jersey this year.

Argos merchandise is a major disappointment so far. Not even close to any other team as far as selection and probably the worst that I can recall, maybe ever! No custom jersey option? Are you freaking kidding me? How hard can it be to offer that option, especially since they do custom cresting INSIDE Real Sports! Hopefully, we get a little better selection in the stadium. I understand the team sells the least but when all you offer is crap, how can they improve?

How disappointing is this... how much could it possibly cost the team to order a box or two of this stuff and take online orders??

As bad as the selection of merch for men is, its downright God-awful for women. The site literally has two things in the women's collection, one of which is a unisex onesie! That's embarrassing. When girls go to sporting events, they like to get dressed up in cute team merch. Look at the crowd at a blue Jay's game, you'll see lots of girls wearing a branded cap or a tank top. Makes for good Instagram photos. This is a big obstacle in creating a fun game day atmosphere.

Very disappointed in MLSE and Realsports. I get that they probably don't move a ton of the stuff, but it's a chicken and the egg argument. We cant wear the stuff to promote the team and grow the fanbase if they dont make the stuff available.

Lids.ca no longer has a CFL section either. I've looked for a way to contact them to ask why but can't seem to find it. It's a shame because that is where I've gotten most of my Argos merch over the years.

I thought Lids and Reebok were somehow affiliated, and when Reebok stopped being the CFLs official outfitter, Lids really cut down on their CFL inventory.

Seems the best bet for online orders is Sportchek.

I live in Stratford, a small city not known for its CFL following. However there is a store here called Queensland Bargain Zone. I relayed the legitimate concerns to the store owner about some fans have about finding decent Argo merchandise. She advised me she does not have a web site, however if anyone wants to message her on Facebook, she will help. She expects more CFL gear in after the Raptors hype dies down in a couple weeks.

I hope this helps...she has some cool CFL and Argo stuff and her prices are very reasonable btw.

Perhaps if they had a better variety of "different" items, more would get bought -- one can only have so many t-shirts, hoodies and hats. Unless something new and unique (like a golf shirt, visor, jacket, pants, etc.) comes out, I personally doubt very much that I will be purchasing any new Argo items this year -- and I know quite a few people that feel the same way.

I subscribe to the Lids mailing list and one of their latest emails was promoting new CFL tshirts and jerseys yet when you go to the website, nothing comes up -- perhaps after the Raptors win wears off a bit their website will be updated to include some CFL stuff again.

Where one can buy things has been poor for years. I had just given up and ordered anything I could find or wanted online. I don't understand why there is nothing available that is new other than 2 hats and the jerseys that you cannot even customize. How does this get escalated? I have a person attending their first game and others that are coming to their 3rd on Saturday and one of them wanted to buy a golf shirt.... I should tell them good luck.... they can make one with the iron on patches that came with my 4 season tickets..... come on man this is brutal. Argo interest is not that bad.

Just a note about realsports I know nobody will care but they've been busy with the Raptors obviously, even their customer service people.

I work by SBA and the line ups at RealSports and Sportchek across the street have been insane for 2 weeks straight for Raps gear.
I'll swing by this week to see what they have for Argos gear at RS though.

I just received a note that the Real Sports Bar is closed for renovations until September..... if that ain't a kick in the butt about wanting to watch CFL games on a big screen.
