Steinauer willingly signed the contract with Hamilton for increased job security and more cash, but you have to wonder if the way this scenario has played out will effect his long term future in Hamilton.

Ottawa wants compensation for Maas. Pandora's box has now been opened, I was hoping the CFL would've learned from the NHL.

I actually think it's hilarious that Ottawa wants compensation. Did the Argos receive comp when they hired Maas ? Did Calgary receive comp when they hired Campbell and took a bunch of the Stamps staff ?

Maas was never a coordinator in Toronto. He was receivers coach first and then became QB coach IIRC. Milanovich was the offensive coordinator in addition to head coach in 2012 and Marcus Brady has been the offensive coordinator since 2013.

I think one more year as a coordinator would have been the ideal situation for Jason, but nothing is ever ideal. I have a feeling Ed Hervey is going to do his best to help hire people around Jason to help with the flow of things. Having an ex-head coach like Bene will help. I think there will be some rough patches in the first season, but I still think the Eskimos hired the best candidate out there.
