    NBL Canada Thread

Even though I have no interest in the NBA, I enjoy following this league. I enjoy the fact that each team is required to carry 4 Canadians (perhaps someday they too will be called Nationals haha). These players prove that they are quality players despite not being in the NBA.

Despite having its share of issues during its short tenure, I expect this league to survive and continue to grow.

Looking forward to taking my 7 year old to our first NBL Canada game today between the London Lightning & Orangeville A's. Should be an entertaining matchup...I expect the talent level to be similar to that of the NBA D-League... btw, 1argoholic, you can be such a brute sometimes!!!

When did orangeville get a franchise? Did Mississauga lose its franchise because of the raptors 905ers? Not sure about the talent level of nba d-league being compared to nba d league but I do wish this Canadian league well in its future. Very dissapointing end to how the season ended last year this league looks like it would need a lot better leadership with guys running this league.

Left Bolton area early to beat the storm back to Stratford so did not make the game. Yes Rocket, Brampton moved to Orangeville when the Raptors D team moved there. The owners of the A's also own the facility in Orangeville. NBLC teams played the 905's in pre season exhibiting games and they were very close. Ya, last season's ending was bush to say the least.

There is a pro basketball team in St. Catharines now. Is this league that they are playing in?
Chad Kelly + Dan Adeboboye + David Ungerer + Damonte Coxie + DaVaris Daniels + Dejon Brissett = Unstoppable Force

Well, after sweeping their first round opponents, the London Lightning and defending Champs Windsor Express face off in round 2 of the Central Division Playoff. Despite not having a great regular season record, the Express boast a roster of veterans. Division winning London will be in tough.

Last night the London Lightning eliminated the defending Champs from Windsor to advance to the NBL finals against a power house Halifax team. Should be an exciting series to close out a successful 5th season for the league.

How can you report that you are about to watch the game, then not report the outcome? You're nothing but a tease.

Think about what you are doing to 1argoholic by not providing up to the minute updates.

Point well taken AV. Halifax came out on top last night with a hard fought 125-117 victory on home court in front of 2,500 fans. For the first time in NBL history, the title leaves the province of Ontario (Windsor and London split the first 4 league titles). These guys don't make a lot of $$$, but the intensity and desire to win was evident. I look forward to season 6 with the expansion Cape Breton Highlanders joining the circuit in 2016-2017.

Awesome. Love the fact that you follow this league. Says a lot about you...in a good way.
