Not sure if the answer is on here or not, but are the endzones 20 or 17 yards? From the virtual tour the look 20 yards.
The end zones will not be regulation sized. Also, they will be field turf as opposed to natural grass.
they just built that small concrete wall in north endzone under the scoreboard so thats the maximum length they can go.
I think the issue is how much runoff they will need for player safety. Based on the pre-construction estimates, 17yd endzones its a 21 foot runoff to the wall, with 18yd endzones it a 18 ft runoff, 20yd endzone is only 12ft to the wall (similar to BC place).
You might even see a change from preseason game Jun 11 to officially locking it in for regular season.
south endzone will be fieldturf starting 10yds into endzone. North endzone will be full field turf. FYI in moncton, you could hardly tell the difference between grass and fieldturf on TV. Same with commonwealth 10 years ago until the weather changed in october.

12 feet seems like a lot of room, especially with 20 yard endzones. There has got to be some NFL stadiums with similar measurements. How about 19 yards and 15 feet runoff?
I really hope BMO goes with full 20 yards end-zones - one team with a shortened end-zone should not commute. They could always do what Hamilton did in the past by adding the padded advertisements.
I would have put a smilie but I can't stand those huge f'n blue things.
I also think 12 feet is enough room for a runoff. I really want to see 20 yard end zones at BMO Field. The Argos have had a field-level LED board (with game information) behind one of the end zones at Rogers Centre since when, 2009 or even earlier? It couldn't have been more than 2 or 3 yards behind the back of the end zone--at the end of Rogers Centre where the video board is I believe. Players could at times jump over it, but not always. Did it ever cause a major injury? It wasn't nearly as soft as a padded wall would be.
I love the way 20 yard end zones increase maneuverability of the receivers.
Not really behind the scenes or anything special but I was out by BMO today.

Argos Season Ticket Holder 2016-2021.
Milanovich wants his players to experience the opening of their own new facility instead of visiting someone else's new stadium.
http://www.cp24.com/sports/toronto-a...ield-1.2858044Head coach Scott Milanovich can't wait for the Toronto Argonauts to enjoy home-field advantage at BMO Field.
That was a rarity last season as Toronto lost four home dates at Rogers Centre due to the Pan-Am Games and baseball playoffs. ...
After being the first opponent at both Ottawa's TD Place and Hamilton's Tim Hortons Field in 2014, Milanovich is anxious for his team to experience the thrill of opening its own facility.
"We were in Hamilton and Ottawa when they opened their stadiums so we got a first-hand feel of the electricity and excitement that builds," he said. "That's what I am anticipating when we open against Hamilton.
"We can't wait, honestly. It's something we've been waiting for for a long time and our players and organization deserve this."
Nice pic. When was it taken and from where?
