    The Elks have signed six year veteran Canadian LB Adam Konar who started with Edmonton but has been with BC Lions the last two years. However, he has not come anywhere near his 2017 year when he made 59 DTs.

    Chris Jones has gone big once again in confirming Kenny Lawler with his $300,000 salary and last year's only 1,000 yard receiver. However, according to reports there is no bonus money, so if things go sideways, they could cut him early.

    The Redblacks won't be recognizable as a team compared to last year with all their free agent signings. But that is a good thing.

    The Redblacks have added Canadians DL Kwaku Boateng and and DB Ty Cranston, as well as American DL Lorenzo Maudlin IV.

    Ottawa has brought back RB William Powell, one of the best RBs in the league, but his career 5.7 yards/rush dropped to 4.0 yards/rush as time catches up with the 34 year old.

    Ottawa has also added former Argo WR Darvin Adams and Canadian WR Shaq Johnson, who was the third leading Canadian WR in yardage from 2017 to 2019, although he had a down year in 2021. I expect a comeback year from the 28 year old. Adams, at 32, is on the downside of his career having failed to break 1,000 yards the last two years, but he adds veteran presence to the receiving corps.

    Speaking of Trevor Harris, there is speculation that he might wait until the season when a team loses its first stringer, as inevitably happens to quite a few teams, to sign with a team that needs a starter fast, if no one as seems likely is ready to offer a #1 starter job.
