Well I'll always be an Argo and Leaf fan but sports today SUCKS as I've mentioned too many times. I hate what it's become. You just plain and simply can't cheer for or get excited for a player or players. You have to cheer for the team colours. Gone are the days where players stay with a team through and through. I still have hope for Durie.

This does indeed blow especially when your most hated rival sees the worth of players your team has created into stars. Barker is more and more like cut throat Wally Buono.

Looks like another year of learning a whole new team. How long before guys under contract ask out to give the NFL a try only to come back and sign elsewhere.

This team won't be in this years Grey Cup. You don't make it to the Grey Cup with a bunch of first and second year guys. Plus we're one hit away from no experience at qb. Have fun cheering for Hamilton or Ottawa at BMO in Nov.

So much for that tour of BMO last year to get the guys excited about 2016.

Time for Barker to pull more miracle finds out of nowhere. Still have hope for Fajardo and Jeremy Gallon looks better and better. Hope he shows up to camp to impress. Michigan guys never seem to show much in the CFL. Perhaps after playing in front of 115,000 it's hard to get excited about a crowd of 15,000 thou. He has what it takes to be a Chad Owens type.

Only team I would say that he might take the bigger contract is to sign in Hamilton. I think Owens is a family man that wouldn't want to bother with moving all his stuff and his family to a new city.
As I predicted right again in many of my post here he has signed in Hamilton. wow what has Jim barker been doing this whole off season? in such a crucial year for this franchise he has managed to do very little in free agency besides signing that useless kicker who I wouldn't even put on a high school team.

As much as I hate to see Owens in Black and Gold, Barker was wise to use Chads salary to upgrade other positions on the team. The receiving core will be fine, (who coaches them this hear btw). Glad Owens was able to continue his playing career....I don't expect him to look like a jerk in Hamilton colours like other ex-Argos do.

Okay I'll bite. Just off the top of my head JB has signed:

    Josh Bourke
    Corey Watman
    Jermaine Gabriel
    Wayne Smith
    Corey Greenwood
    Brian Bulcke

When Ownes drops the game winning TD in the East Final against the Argos this season ... you'll all be happy the Moanin' Samoan is gone.

Sucks that he's going there, but now let's see how fast those idiot Ticat fans who were incredibly vicious to him when he got hurt change their tune.

A class athlete with no quit. His name belongs up there with Pinball Clemons, Dunigan, O'Shea, Damon Allen and all the best of the modern day Argos. I only wish him well.

i hate it, but that's how she goes.

Chad set records and earned his very big paycheques in Double Blue and we will remember those electrifying catches, returns and touchdowns forever. he was a great Argonaut and a great ambassador for the team and for the sport in a city which often didn't deserve the likes of him plying his trade here...

...but we should not forget that at this stage in his career, at his age, with his record of being sidelined for long stretches, and yes... his fumbles which drove us crazy that we could not entertain any thoughts of offering him the sort of money which we had in years past. and in allowing him to test the market, we risked losing him but that paved the way for the SMS room to find and sign the next Ball/Inman/Chiles/Collaros/Harris or yes...Owens.

    @ChadOwens2 thank you champion.

Just reading an old article and thought I'd share with you all.

    http://www.sportsnet.ca/magazine/cha...with-the-best/

This article sums it up pretty much. Chad did so much as a player here, he sure will be missed.

This is a sad day to be an Argo fan and Chad Owens fan.

I love Owens as much as the next Argo fan, and I wish he could have finished his career in Toronto.

But to play devil's advocate, is it that much of a loss on field at this point in his career? Aside from that masterpiece of a catch, was he really a big contribution to the team's success last season? I'll give it that he did have chemistry with Ricky and that's important, as was his presence in the locker room, but his performance has steadily declined in the past few years and that cannot be denied.

Still sad to see him go after all he has done for the Argos and I wish him all the best. But to the dreaded TiCats of all teams...

Flyin Hawaiian in Toronto to Fumblin Hawaiian in Hamilton.
From a needs standpoint a much better day for the Argonauts, they are pretty well situated at receiver and Bulcke fills a major void on the DL.

Plus we got my favorite Stamp and one of my favorite CFL players in Keon Raymond.
Chad Who??? Just kidding but he is dead to me now. Still kidding, I'll always love Chad and we'll be able to cheer for him the odd time that the Argos need Hamilton to beat someone to help our situation out. CRAZY league right now, craziest I can remember.
