It's not beer it's just recycled from the toilet to the taps. Sorry I just had to. hahaha.
Sorry I just love my craft beer. I used to drink swill and now I preach about the beauty of craft. Plus I hate the big beer companies that are owned by anyone but Canadians.
You tell me they couldn't have approached Amsterdam. It doesn't get more TO then them. Oh well.
Too bad that the Ontario government and that beer store monopoly sets the price instead of the brewer and supply and demand. Not too many countries in the world allow that to happen.
I went to the Creemore brewery in Creemore and picked up a 24, I thought it would be cheaper at the brewery, no they have to sell it at the same price as the beer store!!
True, it is frustrating. It's first world problem stuff though when you start throwing out the countries card. To help you deal with it, remember that not too many countries allow you the freedom to go to a brewery to buy beer or even allow such brewery to exist. Creemore is the most easily drinkable amber lager I have ever tasted. It is fantastic.
On the ticketmaster site, there are about 2,600 seats available for the home opener with 2 days to go. I hope there are not alot of seats available elsewhere. With a 2 day media blitz to come (I hope) and a push in Liberty Village neighbourhood a walk up crowd should eat those seats up. Hopefully it is a Toronto crowd and not a Hamilton one. Can't wait.
GO ARGOS!!!
2,598 as of right now
Sad they haven't sold out by now. I had to get my tickets late for reasons not worth thinking about. In the back of my mind I was hoping that I wouldn't have been able to get a ticket, but at least now I get to go.
Now we just need to do our part as fans and go absolutely buck wild so TSN can do a nice little highlight about the team finally coming home and having a future. Who's with me?
If it's a the Beer Store the brand is owned by the beer store. They have a serious monopoly. I used to like Grandville Island IPA but they were bought by Molsons. Bastards try to buy everything. I always laugh at the Sleemans ads sounding like their this little craft beer that's been brewed the same since day one. They are owned by Beer Store part owners Sapporo.
Although I don't like Steamwistle they are a killer company and having just one very success beer is brilliant.
Hockey Valley Brewery has a killer amber.
Anyhow is not like beer is the most important thing in the world but it's good.
Craft beer really isn't all that special. Mill Street, for example, is so much more expensive than cheap swill and it's barely a step up from Laker. Not worth the price or the pretentiousness in my opinion. It's not like we're talking German or Czech beers here.
It all tastes like corpse juice and makes you sick in the end. Do I really want to pay premium prices when at then end of the day, all I'm doing is mildly poisoning myself?
And really, craft beer at a sporting event in Toronto? How much would that cost for a beer, I wonder? Plus the Argos would have to change their name to the Kensington Flying Fedora.
Mill Street is now owned by Labatt's I believe.
Not all craft beer appeals to me either but when you start to find the ones that rock it isn't hard to taste the difference. It's fun finding great craft beer as well. Every town now seems to have craft breweries popping up and it gives you something to look forward to if you're in a new town. It's not all that expensive and when you find ones you love then it's worth the price. For example I tend to love good brown ales and stouts. Royal City in Guelph has two great Stouts, Howe Sound Rail Nut Brown Ale in Squamish BC is perhaps the best year I've ever had. When I went to Grey Cup in Vancouver a few years back my first stop was the booze bank for some. Hockley Valley has a great amber and dark. A new brewery to me which I just tried last week is Smithavens in Peterborough and I really liked there dark lager and their Dunkelweizen. Not normally a German Dark Wheat Ale kind of guy but this was smooth and had flavours hitting big time. My love of craft beer comes from my love of cooking foods from all over the world. It all ties in. Some beers aren't right for sitting and pounding but some are killer with a great meal.
Amsterdam Downtown Brown rocks as does Black Oaks. Some people just eat to survive and drink whatever but both have become passions to me.
I'm finding it amazing that nobody really has a clue (or good rumour) about how many people are going to show up tomorrow night.
