Think again. You must be basing this on the start of the 2nd and 3rd period optics on TV. The tickets are used, but for the first 5 minutes after each intermission, a large number of people are still in the platinum lounge.

hmm... anecdotal but i went to a midseason game last year and the golds were 50% empty the entire game.
the nosebleeds were full, but the big money spots were empty to the max.

Maybe the argos don't have any corporate ST but I'd venture they at least have some.
I'm assuming your original post was in regards to the Argos, my guess is at least 90% of the Argo season seat sales are regular working folk like most of us who post here and as Angelo pointed out most corporate ticket handouts are used as well.

I wonder how many existing season ticket holders increased their number of Season Tickets for the move to BMO Field? I know that we did.
Steve Simmons in his latest column has confirmed those numbers and also mentioned that they had 8k season ticket holders back in 2012.

Shocked they only had 8,000 Season ticket sales but still managed to get 54,000 of which were mostly Argo fans in the dome for the Grey Cup....clearly plenty of people just bought tix for the Grey Cup, but Grey Cup tickets were sold much more earlier than they were for this year and the cheapest price was $125 if I remember well.

Simmons article states some good points...I do believe hosting the Grey Cup this year was too much too soon for the new regime. I know Bob Young and the Ticat fans along with the City of Hamilton are fuming that THF in Hamilton has not been given a Grey Cup game and quite frankly I don't blame them...Bob Young has been treated like crap by the league which imo is not appropriate treatment for a guy who has spent his own dough along with tax dollars for the stadium to better the Ticats. Bell and Tannenbaum just took control of the Argos and they get a Grey Cup to profit from in year 1.

PS - Does that season ticket number include partial ticket packages...I hope not.

Sounds like they and/or the city aren't ready to host. I don't think you're "given" a Grey Cup game. You have to show interest, and have the right facilities in place.

Hamilton city council have shown interest and complained to the league as they were conditionally told that they would host 2 Grey Cups by 2020 once the Pan AM stadium (THF) was built, and not much has to be done, it's a great facility but you're making it sound like a POS stadium because a stadium speaker fell, that...that's a work management issue and somebody should be held accountable. Thankfully no event was going on at the time, but don't take advantage of that situation to say it should not host a Grey Cup, it should...and how about Ottawa, no falling speakers there and it's a fine new facility that hasn't hosted a Grey Cup since it was refurbished, they also deserve one more than Toronto...where the media may choose to not cover the event because they need to report on the Baseball winter meetings a week in advance or that the Raptors GM dropped an F-Bomb on Maple Leaf square...how cool. (This city is a friggin joke)

The Ticats were promised 2 Grey Cups within a decade not by 2020. The stadium is still not 100% complete, so yeah there are still some issues with it, and they still don't even know how many temp seats they can fit in for a Grey Cup.

Ottawa will receive the 2017 Grey Cup.

Gotta admit, I'm shocked...I really thought they'd be between 10-12 K. I really hope the 7,000 doesn't include partial flexes and I'm afraid to ask.

I guess I expected more ticket sales but then saw the prices. They didn't start out the ticket prices like the brand was damaged. I suppose the idea is to put those prices in place and let the crowd grow into them.

I wonder how many more seasons they would sell if 4/9 home games were not held on weeknights? As I understand 70% of argo fans are in the 905, how can people expect them to make it downtown in time to watch the game and be back home at a reasonable time so they can be at work the next morning?

Hopefully next year the schedule is better because no construction will be going on to hold up the soccer season. Perhaps we can hit a few games next year from the 705 mofo's. haha. I don't get this 416, 905, pride deal. One local lady told me that kids were getting 705 tats. We both laughed like anyone out of the 705 will know where the hell it is.

Now that we're outside we'd rather have weekday games in the Summer than weekend games in October and November.
