    Baker Mayfield highlights

The more I see from this kid; the more I like his play.

Looks pretty good to me. Nice touch on the ball, good at seeing the playing field and is mobile. Decent arm. Doesn't look to be quite the listed 6'1 which should be in the Argos favour. Typical CFL type QB, but after Russell Wilson came along and has had so much success in the NFL one never knows

Why are you posting this? Is he on the Argos neg list? He's got another year of college to go, and if he takes OK to the CFP again, he will certainly get NFL looks. He's like Johnny Football without the booze.

When watching the high lights it looked like Josiah St. John was playing part of the time at RT. #55. Looks like he would have gotten quite a bit of pass blocking experience. Mayfield does quite a bit of passing. Definitely a change for Oklahoma Football. The other RT Tackle was #75 so it was a bit difficult to tell which was which all the time on those quick video clips.

Oklahoma's had a pass-oriented offence for about 20 years now.

Looks like Cody Fajardo except Farjardo runs more. I'd take both.

With how well Baker is playing, I doubt he'll be up in the CFL anytime soon, but good luck to him.

I hope somebody from the Argos (or at least one CFL team) is tracking the progress of this Nathan Rourke kid who is playing QB at Div I Ohio (jerry has a thread about him in the "other sports" forum) - an outstanding running QB (set TD rushing records already including numerous huge gainers for a QB) - who has 2 years left to progress there and might improve his passing (numbers there already pretty decent).

There's also this Kaleb Scott kid who took over at QB for Saint Mary's this season and led the Conference in passing yards per game plus rushed for good yardage - almost got them to the AUS title when he passed for over 400 yards in that OT loss to Acadia - Scott has 6-3, 190 size, and seems like an outstanding young QB prospect if he can continue to improve his passing to go with his running/scrambling ability - 2 years left there till draft time (?) - he's from Ontario, where i heard he ran an option style offence before (?)

The CFL may have trended away from deploying running/scrambling QBs as much as they did in the past, but I still believe a good dual threat QB is ideal for the CFL game; and Mike Reilly is continuing to show his running ability & toughness can really help an offence; Masoli's scrambling and running for yardage really made the Ticats offence go this season as well. And Brandon Bridge should be coached up to use his athletic/running ability way more to go with his rocket arm if he progresses to more CFL playing time.

I'd gladly have a good mobile QB as even my 2nd string guy or a change of pace option; Fajardo might be that guy now for the Argos and could maybe progress to grab the starter job down the road?

Diversity is so under-rated by many in sports team play and in football specifically IMO.
