Well, at least the "pitch" wasn't all torn up. THAT would have been unacceptable!

I just scanned the Red Patch Boys forum for comments on this.

They are quite p/o'd about it.
At least they "get" that this is unacceptable behaviour and puts everyone at risk.

Suspicions are that it was the Inebriatti group (again).

    TFC played last night?

Suspicions? LOL. Part of the attraction and part of the repulsion of TFC games. Unfortunately, it looks like the perpetrators might have ruined the fun for everyone else. This time the law is involved. Manning also plans on some sort of ban for the next home game. Would be something to see the South stands empty. I thinks it's all talk, but I guess we will see what extra measures are taken.

I believe they have suspended "privileges" for the supporters groups, not the groups themselves. That means things like permission to bring in flags etc.

That's my understanding as well. They have no way of preventing them from congregating AFAIK.

Agreed! And bring back the Toronto Lynx of the A-League as well! I still have a couple of beautiful Lynx jerseys:

I hate this "Toronto FC" European style team name. I'm all for the Ottawa Fury in this two game series.

Whoever can be proved to be involved in this should be banned for life as these shenanigans could cause a fire and/or a panic stampede that results in the death of people, as has some incidents of hooliganism in Europe.

Inebriatti supporters group take responsibility for Ottawa flares incident after initially denying they were involved.

    http://www.cbc.ca/sports/soccer/mls/...-mls-1.4758497

Notice that they make a plea that other groups not be punished for their behaviour.
This after the other groups supported them when they were sanctioned by TFC for an obscene banner they placed in their section at a home game against the Montreal Impact.
These supporters groups support each other it appears.
TFC management is having none of it and continues to suspend privileges for ALL groups.

They're clearly attempting to emulate Eurotrash type lager louts such as those supporting Manchester United.

No. Man U has one of the tamest (but still great singing) supporter groups in all of England. In fact, no English team has supporters that behave the way TFC's do. It's more Italian Ultra's culture.

Seeing as how my parents came here from Europe, I take offence to the term Eurotrash.

But it was the behaviour of English soccer fans that gave rise to the very term "lager louts".

So did mine. And I still speak the language of the old country better than passably well. Plus I've visited seven times since 1987.

In addition I get dangerously excited every summer when this team is in action:

I think of Cannes and effete movie stars and socialites when I hear the word "Eurotrash".
