    CFL refs - some changes being made




    I like many others have been critical of the refs and the League for not making the officials accountable, but I'm happy to see this. While it sucks for anyone to lose their jobs, you have to be accountable and do your job well - something of which has been a problem within the referee ranks in the CFL for quite some time IMO. The League needs to improve officiating, so I see this as a positive move overall.

    Interesting phrase, more conditioning. I wonder if he really means they were deemed to be in poor physical condition. More likely they need more development/seasoning.

    The 5 actual home games at RC last year were not officiated well. Usually the home team gets some kind of benefit of the doubt on calls at home. The exact opposite seemed to be happening the last 2 seasons.

    Good to see the league is finally taking some action with regard to the refereeing. Conditioning sounds like an excuse to avoid embarrassing them.

    Foxcroft and Vallesi would be good choices, both were bad to the point of embarrassment.
