The CFL and NFL are the only two major professional leagues in North America that aren't operating franchises currently. MLB has been operating the Dodgers after they went bankrupt, the NHL has been operating the Coyotes forever, and the NBA has been operating their New Orleans franchise. The CFL has received a lot of flak over the years when they have been forced to do the same but there seems to be much less criticism from the Canadian media of some of these other leagues having to do likewise.
