He is supposed to have an MRI. He can't catch a break.

Man...that guy has had such a rough go of it. You gotta wonder if he's thinking of retiring.
The Eskimos have released several veterans; International RB Kendal Lawrence, and National backups ST/WR Anthony Barrett and DE Elie Ngoyi, as well as rookie National RB Johnny Augustin. WR Kenny Stafford, who was cut by the Bombers, was added to the practice roster.
Edmonton has released Chris Getzlaf, who had only caught five passes for 43 yards this year, after an 11 year career in which he had more than 6,000 yards in receptions.
Fine player in his prime. Can't argue with 11 years. That's really beating the odds.

Not this crap again...............
Infinitely better our relatively good approximation of a democracy over the ultimate expression of political correctness that is fascism.
On this particular issue, the following (excerpted from an entry at cbc.ca) opinions surveyed all deserve to be in play:
Should the CFL’s Edmonton Eskimos change their name?
The question has been raised after the U.S Patent and Trademark Office decided in a landmark ruling on Wednesday to cancel six Washington Redskins registered trademarks, reasoning that the name was “disparaging to Native Americans.”
Many people also consider the word "Eskimo" inappropriate and some are calling to have the Edmonton Eskimos name changed. City blogger Ben Freeland wants the name changed because he says it’s offensive and inaccurate. “The name has nothing to do with Edmonton,” said Freeland. “This is traditional Cree territory. We might as well call ourselves the Edmonton Navajo or the Edmonton Aztecs. It’s about as close a connection as that.” Freeland believes the Eskimos name isn’t a big issue in the city because the team doesn’t have an offensive logo to go along with it. ‘ “I think the difference when you compare the Eskimos to say the Cleveland Indians or the Washington Redskins is that… we don’t have a caricature or cartoon character on our jerseys,” he said.
Some, however, don’t feel so strongly about the matter. “I don’t believe that there is any kind of negative connotation to that name,” said Julie Lewis. “I think it’s just historic.”
Others living in Inuvik in the Northwest Territories appear to be split on the issue. “I find it insulting personally,” said Carl Grubin-Fraser. “But there are others that think a team name is just a team name.” “Edmonton Eskimos, to me, is just the name of a sports team,” said Richard Gordon. “Nothing offensive.”
A spokesperson representing the sports team said the organization has no plans to change the Eskimos name.
Well, in summary, the only victim of the Milanovich Massacre that should still playing for the Argos - Vidal Hazelton - missed a chunk of games due to injury, yet still had a quite respectable season and, indeed, post-season production.
Hopefully this Euclid can prove his fifth (professional career) postulate, and make the 49ers.

And Kevin Glenn's run through the "Amazing Race Canada" is complete.
Just talked with @qterback5 - truly excited to join #Esks says completing the cycle was part of the decision. Has already ordered Esks jerseys for the kids

We'll see if he makes the team/roster.
Maybe if Maas is one of those CFL thinkers who believes you just have to have a veteran, "experienced" back-up QB around. IMO - having a mediocre like Glenn around is just going to take practice or actual game reps away from young QBs who might have some upside and need work to develop & improve. And rather try to go with a young QB - even in a big late-season game if Reilly was to get knocked-out of action - than rely on the ever average QB skills of Glenn; IMO it's scary & myopic that sees this guy keeps getting CFL chances. GOB deluxe.
I highly doubt in a Grey Cup hosting year, the Esks just signed Glenn to just show up for TC and then get released. Kevin Glenn is a good backup to have IMO, not good enough to be a starter, but good insurance should anything happen to the starter. Maybe you think O'Brien or Jenkins should be the backup ?
Good luck if you need him to win a playoff game or Grey Cup!!!
Long history of coming up short in big games. Three INT's in the first have of the east final....enough said.
I think whoever does best in real TC competition - and between at least 5 other young QBs (when you have lost a highly regarded back-up in Franklin) should be the 2 back-ups; and Glenn is a total waste of time.
But hey - maybe the Argos should have signed this amazing QB talent - in case Ray retires - and give up on Fajardo, Prukop. Bethel-Thompson or any other young QB they might be able to sign.
Nothing wrong with Glenn as a backup, way better than O’Brien but they had a younger rookie that seemed like a good prospect. Threw a deep TD in a regular season game. While a cool piece of trivia, is completeing the cycle something to be proud of? It’s like being proud of the many times you’ve been dumped. Maybe it’s just me.

Can confirm the @EdmontonEsks have released receiver @AdariusBowman who becomes a free agent ahead of the opening of next week’s market. Bowman is 32 with lots left. #CFL #Esks

With Bowman released, I predict this is a good thing, because it drops SJ Green down a notch on the Free Agent Market..
Pretty much any veteran that was owed a bonus was released, (See: Darian Durant)
