Interesting that a team would let a GM/HC go that route : a clueless all-season long TC and try-outs ??? That's what a normal TC combined with good off-season scouting - signing FAs & drafting, is supposed to be for. But i guess when it's a genius like Jones, it's all good.

He did go that route in 2016 in Saskatchewan and it paid off with contending seasons in 2017 and 2018. I don't doubt that it will pay off again for Jones.

They will continue to be dead last in the West under that clown; I just hope it doesn't kill the franchise.

The attendance has already from a 2021 average 26,210 to 23,490 in 2022 and long way from the glory days of large audiences for all games.

The Elks have extended QB Taylor Cornelius through 2024 while Tre Ford is back in the lineup as a backup.

The Elks have gone two seasons (albeit one shortened) without winning a game at Commonwealth Stadium. That would've been unheard of 25-30 years ago.

It’s unheard of for any time period. Even some really bad Argos teams over the years didn’t do that. Hopefully Ottawa wins this week to give their fans at least 1 home win.

Mitchell was a good find; and that RB Brown even better IMO; a couple of good finds on D too - Canadians Hutter (safety) and Makonzo (OLB) in particular.

And the combo of Cornelius & Ford at QB might prove pretty decent going forward - we shall see.

Still - I have zero confidence in over-rated Ego-Jones being able to put together a winning team there. Dinwiddie - taking over a 4 & 14 Argo team and right away putting together 2 winning seasons seems like a coaching genius in comparison. LOL

The Elks dwindling attendance raises another question mark for the league. While their attendance at the last home game was supposedly 23,000+, it didn't look anywhere near that.

Edmonton has signed five year NFL veteran DB Jordan Lucas and Indoor Football League RB Shannon Brooks.

A sixth-round draft pick by the Miami Dolphins in 2016, Lucas has suited up for 50 games over five NFL seasons, winning Super Bowl LIV with the Kansas City Chiefs before spending 2021 with the Indianapolis Colts.
Lucas played collegiately at Penn State from 2012 to 2015, totalling 81 tackles, three interceptions, 11 tackles for loss, and four sacks over his NCAA career. He twice received All-Big Ten honourable mention from the conference’s media and coaches, in his sophomore and junior seasons.
Brooks played five seasons at the University of Minnesota (2015-19), where the Georgia native had 431 carries for 2,290 yards and 20 touchdowns in 38 career games for the Gophers. He also had two receiving touchdowns and passed for one touchdown, a 42-yard strike to Drew Wolitarsky in 2015.
Brooks spent the last two seasons in the Indoor Football League, with the Massachusetts Pirates in 2021 before joining the Arizona Rattlers last season. He rushed for 396 yards on 89 attempts, while adding 18 touchdowns on the ground and nine receiving touchdowns with the Rattlers.

Neck surgery for any football player (especially a RB) should be a major concern.
You would think it best that he retires.

The type of surgery does suggest retirement to be a logical option, indeed.

The Elks have a campaign going where if you buy one of a limited number of P1 tickets (the most expensive and best seat - $90) if the Elks don't win you get the same seat free every game until they win. Wonder if this would be appropriate or could work for Toronto.

    Here’s how the ticket works:

A limited number of P1 (best seat in the house) tickets to Edmonton’s 2023 home opener on June 11 against the Saskatchewan Roughriders will be sold as Guaranteed Win Tickets.

Buy a Guaranteed Win Ticket and you’ll keep your seat until the Elks deliver a win at home. Pay once, and a win you shall receive. It’s a win-win for you.

If the Elks WIN on June 11, you’ll leave happy that our pesky home skid has ended.

If the Elks lose on June 11, you’ll receive your same seat to Edmonton’s June 25 matchup vs. Toronto.

Fans will get their same seat at no additional cost until the Double E deliver a home win.

Nice of Jones to re-sign Litre, then cut him a month later. Maybe he should come here to replace Cross.
