Hard to get shut out in the CFL, Edmonton a really bad football team right now.
It’s only week 2 but the football hasn’t been very good so far.

I can see MBT in Edmonton by Labour Day.
Zero surprise from me that Locksley would pass Ford for #2; Jones auditioned a bunch of Canadians in his gifted full season long TC of last year, but might be in standard GOB mode this season (Scott Hutter, who was very impressive IMO at safety for the EE last season and led them in tackles, has been kicked to the curb so Jones could play vet Purifoy at safety but roll with 3 rookie Americans in his D-backfield - how's that working out so far ? - if Hutter had an American passport I pretty well guarantee Jones would have rewarded him with starting again)
Bombers rookie QB also stuffed multiple times in short & goal vs. the Ticats first game. Very successful play for a few CFL teams last year (Als & RedBlacks (Dom Davis & Evans) back-up QBs rushed for umpteen TDs in short and goal), so naturally all CFL teams adopt the same thing as the only play in that situation; love to see it get stuffed some this year - a reward for same old predictability.
Don't forget about all of James Franklin's TD's in 2019. The guy was a disaster otherwise but he could at least do the QB sneak.
I honestly hate what teams do on short yardage, by bringing everyone into the box every time. Matt Dunigan has suggested previously that teams should just spread out their offence in such situations and I agree.
Cameron Dukes + Dan Adeboboye + Kevin Mital + David Ungerer + Damonte Coxie + DaVaris Daniels + Dejon Brissett = Unstoppable Force
That didn’t take long, Kai Locksley has been released.

I don’t think Cornelius deserved getting the hook by Jones in the first place, but then to bench Locksley after his fumbled snap was equally puzzling. Worst case of QB management in recent memory. Locksley will find employment and will be thankful for the escape from that once proud franchise.

I think he's lost it already. Problem is, he has the duo role of GM and coach. It would be costly for a community owned team (not to mention the dumb ass management cap) to replace him with 2 people. The only option would be to promote Geroy Simon to GM and likely Stephen McAdoo to HC should they decide to ax him.
It's us vs the rest of the country
Agreed - Jones is a total buffoon. Names Corneilus the #1 franchise QB with a good bucks contract and talks him up this past week; yanks him mid-way thru the 3rd game of the season where he was not playing real bad; puts in Locksley but yanks him after all of one play (fumble on an RPO that could have been the RB's fault); and then goes with a raw rookie Doege, who had been promoted over last year's 2nd stringer Ford (who actually won a start for them) - which was a slap in the face insult to Ford along the way. Worst QB management of all-time perhaps. Jones is a loser and @$$-hat. And sad that Jones was the only CFL GM to step-up and draft Tre Ford - but likely only because the guy is an "athlete" who runs a 4.4 forty.
And to think I had some faint hope that Jones could actually do something different on offence in the CFL game: he had 3 mobile run threat QBs; a dynamite little RB IMO in Brown, plus had drafted, 2 years in a row, big bruiser power backs out of U Sports ball (Cinamkinda GGs, and Beaulieu (Carabins) - who got zero opportunity in ex. games). Could have tried a run option QB attack with rolls outs and designed QB run, plus pounded a steady, diverse ground game, which helps set-up the pass game to some good receiver talent they have. Not to be though - same old CFL offence with a QB and O-line not near good enough for all passing game.
