With Locksley's release, Tre Ford will be back on the active roster.
Locksley's tantrum on the sidelines yesterday - justified or not - reminds me of Cleo Lemon's last game as an Argo in 2011.

Eugene Lewis has not been the $320,000 WR Chris Jones he expected he was getting so far.
https://edmontonjournal.com/sports/f...-up-to-billingBut since putting up an impressive 148 receiving yards on opening day, it has been all downhill for Lewis and the rest of the Elks offence, which currently sits at the bottom of the stack, averaging 231 yards of net offence and second only to this week’s opponents, the Ottawa Redblacks, when it comes to scoring 14.7 points per game.
He only has added 52 more receiving yards since to sit ninth overall with exactly 200 yards while the player in front of him, the Montreal Alouettes’ Austin Mack, has 201 despite playing one fewer game.
Lewis would have added a second touchdown to his stats, too, had he not fumbled the ball away Sunday at the one yard-line — an area that is fast becoming a theme for the team at Commonwealth Stadium this season for all the wrong reasons. Just ask their short-yardage unit.
Edmonton ahead 6-0 in the second quarter. Could this be the night they break the home losing streak?
The Elks with their 20th home loss tonight have tied baseball's 1953 St. Louis Browns (after that year they left St. Louis in shame to become the Baltimore Orioles) for the longest home losing streak in North American pro sports history. Will they lose their next home game to become the sole holder of the record?
I watched a bit of the game between Edmonton and Hamilton last night and it was admittedly saddened to see what has happened to what was once the undisputed premiere franchise of the league.
On top of fielding an awful team for successive seasons, the Bud Light strategy of renaming the team for nothing but WOKE purposes has done immeasurable harm - probably one they will never recover from, tbh. They willingly flushed 70 years of history down the toilet and in the process, angered and alienated lifelong fans. Anyone who disagreed with the decision was called any number of derogatory names and pretty much dismissed outright. A large number of these same fans will most likely never return. I'm sure there'll be some people here who think I'm Hitler for "daring" to say it and will be fiercely clutching their pearls in angst, but it's a fact; just look at what's happened to Bud Light in the marketplace.
I'm an Argonauts fan and if for some reason they decided that "Argonauts" was somehow racist and changed the team name to the "Toronto Racoons" I'm thinking I'd first be angered then I'd lose about 99.9% of the enthusiasm I had for the team and question why I ever bothered in the first place. It's more than just a team name - it's a shared history, a two-way street between both club and fan.
Without history, there can be no loyalty. That's what the Edmonton Elks are experiencing right now. Even if the team were to dramatically improve their on-field success, my guess is that they will forever be struggling with attendance issues due to this decision.
I might be wrong - I hope so actually, but how long can this team go on playing to 2000-3000 fans a game?
The Leafs had two names before Leafs. They survived.
Elks will be fine when they start winning.
I don't know if I'd go that far; he has some QB talent and can run for a big guy; he just isn't an accurate, pocket passing QB to run standard, same old, simple CFL offence that CFL offensive coaches only know now. 2 games in a row now he has been effective at the start of games by taking off some and running for yardage, and they have mixed in a bit of ground game with that good back Brown, and then this can set up some pass. But they end up deferring to same old QB a sitting duck in the pocket and trying to make reads that take too long.
Doege as an alternative has actually flashed a more accurate passing arm, but he's still young and not up to leading a pass heavy offence without variety and a ground game.
Why Tre Ford has not been given a shot yet ... well, it's obvious (and he beat the Ticats in Hamilton in a start last season); and he's a QB you could really game plan plenty of roll-out and QB option or planned runs with.
That ego-clown Jones should be punted way out of town there; he's the most over-rated coaching mind in CFL history likely - zero clue about offence and his supposed defensive genius is laughable the past 2 seasons, with all kinds of holes in his line-up (DE, MLB and all over the secondary) and teams able to plie up yardage and score easily on them.
Edmonton has been losing fans for decades, and losing 20 home games in a row since 2019 to tie the North American pro sports record set by the St. Louis Browns in 1953 for most consecutive losses has a hell of a lot more to do with it than a Bud Light commercial. St. Louis lost so much of its fan base it moved to Baltimore the next year to become the Baltimore Orioles. The sad fact is it looks like the Elks are going to hold the record all by themselves after their next home game. The lack of significant improvement in play that would bring hope for a better future is killing the franchise.
Please refrain from making posts unrelated to the title of the thread. I really don't want to censor OP's or anyone's post but try to keep "politics" out of it. I'm sure many aren't happy with how things went down with the name change, but at least the Elks has historical significance and the EE is kept. I think the bigger issue is Chris Jones....

Last night on the panel Matt Dunigan was very critical of the “Operations Cap” that the Commissioner instilled on teams. Can’t agree more. Because of this, Edmonton isn’t able to make the necessary changes. However Chui or whoever made the decision to hire Jones and give him all that control has to live with it, thus driving away a once thriving fan base.
Op's post at least references the Elks, the poor attendance etc. Your comment focused on one word he used, not the overall message. And I don't think the entire post needs to be deleted and I really don't want to be censoring and removing a word or a sentence. If OP feels that the organization caved due to "wokeness" and made a marketing blunder, then that is their opinion. I don't intend to manipulate their original thought into something that they did not intend. I think a civil discussion can be had on whether the name change could possibly have an effect on the overall fanbase but sadly once it turns into personal attacks or name calling and veers away from the topic at hand, then sadly those discussions won't last long.

In the true Bugs Bunny form of "Ain't I a stinker?" thought I would just leave this here:
Elks’ Chris Jones challenges Canadian QB Tre Ford to ‘play better’ and ‘opportunity will show up’

It's us vs the rest of the country
All CFL teams are challenging Michael O'Connor to "play better" and then they will sign him.
And all Canadian trained QBs are asked to change their passport - and then they may get a CFL "opportunity" - like throwing a doege a bone.
