Edmonton has said it is close to make a decision on a new team name and will announce it before the CFL is scheduled to start on August 5th.
"Elks" it is. I preferred the "Elk" form, but this is fine.
The logo is not bad and I like look of the antlers on the helmet. I'd like to see a white outline around them, though, for greater contrast.
Here's a look at the Edmonton Elks logo and other insignia. It looks sharper than I thought it would.

I agree on the antler outline for the helmet. As is, the antlers look a little thin, with too much yellow and not enough logo.
Having said that, I think they nailed it with the re-brand. The logo is sharp, and the name is a winner.
Edmonton, Toronto, and Montreal have all really improved their logos over the past two seasons.
Like the name, still has some historical significance. Logo is meh. Looks like hipster outdoors brand that will go out of style in the next couple years. The Elk should be the alternative logo, keeping EE as the the primary logo and as the helmet decal. The antlers are thin. Look like veins on a helmet. With the EE you at least keep those who are the most resistant to change somewhat happy while keeping the past history of the team present and not erasing it all. Totally missed the mark with that, IMO.
If I were running the team, I'd be tempted to use the double-E logo on helmets for West division games and the antler design for East division games. Keep a more traditional look for the traditional rivals and give fans a newer look for other games. Or maybe use the double-E for the Labour Day matches.
I would also add the new logo looks like an excellent logo for Parks Canada. Not so much a football team IMO.
The Elks have also been hit with a significant loss as Derek Dennis has announced that he will not play in the 2021 season to take care of his family.
