What a disaster the Elks are. Anyone else remember a certain member of this forum having a love affair with Brock Sunderland? 12-6 his first year in Edmonton with the Grey Cup team Chris Jones left behind, and gotten worse every year since.
It's us vs the rest of the country
The Elfs are horrid.
Harris is playing hurt.

So, I know Harris struggled last week but to be a healthy scratch? What is going on?
Heads should roll in Edmonton, it seems they treat their players like crap and have done a good job in creating a toxic atmosphere within the organization which doesn’t bode well for future success.
Sunderland seemingly has no clue and I suspect this will be Elizondo’s first and only kick at the can as a HC.

I think this opens up a return of Chris Jones as HC, DC, GM, part owner lol
Argos Season Ticket Holder 2016-2021.
The Elks have extended QB Nick Arbuckle through 2022.
Edmonton is pursuing Mike O'Shea for GM/HC according to Arash Madani.
The Elks have signed Chris Jones as HC and GM and Geroy Simons as assistant GM - a definite upgrade on the previous regime, although that's a low bar.
Ian Murray, the chair of the Elks board of directors, that while he sees the addition of Jones and Simons as helping improve the on-field product much more has to be done to bring back fans.
https://3downnation.com/2021/12/29/w...s-performance/Ian Murray, who in praising his new hire on TSN 1260 in Edmonton admitted that changing the team’s on-the-field fortunes won’t be enough to turn around the business side of the operation. “It’s probably the largest factor, but it’s not the only factor. We had several reasons why we had a disenchanted fan base and where we have business issues to fix,” Murray acknowledged. We need to improve the game-day experience, make everything more interesting. We also have to improve the customer service. If somebody’s having trouble with electronic ticketing, there’s somebody to help them in a timely manner.”
The Elks saw their traditionally stand-out attendance numbers dwindle in 2021 as the fan base showed their displeasure over the product on the field and the dealings of since-fired GM Brock Sunderland and head coach Jaime Elizondo. Yet Murray has been clear that the issues went beyond one bad season, raising red flags about one of the CFL’s most stable franchises.
With the firing of the old regime and the hiring of Jones, Murray believes he has rectified many short-term problems, but not the long-term ones. “I think we can fix [the on-field product] fairly quickly. I’m not going to promise a specific timing and I think it’d be a stretch to expect us to win the cup in the first year, but I do expect material improvement on the field right away. I also expect big improvement for the fan experience and getting the attendance numbers up pretty quickly,” Murray explained, before revealing the catch. I don’t think it’s going to be solved overnight. As we spoke about previous, there’s some immediate short-term problems that are the priority to ensure the existing fan base has their concerns addressed and then we do have a longer term issue about growing the fan base. That’s going to take five years to gradually fix it — five or more, that’s not an immediate thing at all.”
Ego-Jones signing a whole whack of his guys / ex/older CFL players - Duron Carter, Manny Arcenaux, Adarius Bowman amongst them.
Going to be a real interesting season in EE land - looking forward to seeing them buried in last place again.
They're now officially the #1 contender for the 2015 Grey Cup.
Chris Jones is bringing another veteran player who formerly played for him to the Elks: nine year veteran DB Ed Gainey, who has played for Montreal, Hamilton and most recently Saskatchewan.
The reason the Elks won out after BC offered Kenny Lawler $275,000, was they gave him $300,000. The numbers for WRs, even top ones, are getting crazy by CFL standards, especially when the Argos couldn't sign former five year veteran Canadian NFLer TJ Jones because he had to get a rookie salary.
Argonaut legend Martavis Bryant signs with Edmonton, wonder if he will bother to show up this time?
