Canada has done well at the championships recently and has had a number of players from the 2011 team recognizable as CFL players including Shamawd Chambers, Anthony Woodson, Sherko Haji-Rassouli, Michel Pierre Pontbriand, Lirim Hajrullahu, and the incomparable Adriano Belli.
However it withdrew from the 2015 championships when they were rescheduled in time and place.

The Canada national football team represent Canada in international gridiron football competitions. It is controlled by Football Canada and is recognized by the International Federation of American Football (IFAF). While Football Canada is the governing body for amateur Canadian football, IFAF-sponsored games are played using American football rules. They competed for their first IFAF World Championship in 2011.
Canada has also developed the Canada national football junior team which is an elite developmental program which participates in the International Federation of American Football (IFAF) Under-19 World Championship planned to be held every 2 years. This tournament was previously known as the IFAF Junior World Cup. Canada won the 2012 Under-19 championship, upsetting the favourite and host team, the United States, to give the US national team its only loss to date in international competition. ...
Football Canada became a full member of the IFAF in 2004. Thereafter Canada competed in international junior, flag, and women's football events. In 2011 it was announced that Canada would organize a senior men's team for international competition. They made their international debut at the 2011 IFAF World Cup.
Unlike the US national team, active professional players are allowed to participate, and a handful of Canadian Football League players participated on the national squad, although the fact that the CFL's season overlapped with the 2011 World Championship prevented most of the best non-import players in that league from participating.

In 2012 Canada won the IFAF U-19 championships.

The 2012 IFAF U-19 World Championship took place in 2012 at Austin, Texas. These championship match the world’s eight best high school-aged (19 and under) national American football teams from five continents shall be played at Burger Stadium in Austin Texas. The action began on Saturday, June 30 and ran through Saturday, July 8.[1] To win the Gold Medal #2 ranked Canada had to defeat #7 Sweden, #3 Japan and finally #1 USA in the Championship game. The hard road to success turned in a fantastic finish to a great tournament. In doing so, Canada avenged its 50-7 loss in the 2011 IFAF World Championship (which was composed of adult competitors) and handed the U.S. national team its first ever loss in international competition.

The Americans won the U-19 group in 2009 and 2014 while Canada was the runner-up.

It is unfortunate that it isn't Canadian football being played internationally.
