Very interestin';; sounds like this Shepherd guy would have been a top 20 type CFL draft prospect; but the Ticats get to scoop him for free / without using a draft pick by putting him on their neg list = smart move, by whoever tracked this guy. Up for Div II defensive player of the year = pretty impressive (but so was Jordan Herdman i believe and he fell way down in the CFL draft).

He might well get an NFL look after impressing at such a high profile event as the Senior Bowl; but he doesn't make it there and wants to play pro in the CFL - he's from Ontario - he might show up for the Ticats and be an impact player. Ted Laurent is a free agent upcoming - he might sign with another team - but he is also getting on in age & mileage.
