Yah, I just realized that and was about to correct my post.
Adams has potential to be a respectable QB in my opinion and could be more valuable long-term than an aging Hughes.

Jeff Hamilton criticizes the Tiger Cats and the CFL for failing to contact Johnny Manziel's ex-girlfriend about his behaviour and personality. Both need to get at better at dealing with these issues.

Hamilton’s story says that neither the league or the team has reached out to Crowley as part of their “due diligence” on Manziel and also outlines why that’s a significant oversight, according to experts. It also features an incredibly damning quote Crowley. From the story:
If Manziel had shown remorse by issuing an apology to Crowley or shown some accountability by openly taking responsibility for his choices, it would have been significant, as those are described by evaluators as two of the most telling signs an accused is on the right track to changing his behaviour. Had the CFL reached out to Manziel’s victim, they would have found out neither of those signs was present.
“At first, I felt that I needed an apology to help me process the assault. When it wasn’t forthcoming, and I had more time to process his destructive nature, I realized that he needed the remorse in order to heal,” Crowley said. “He won’t change due to his denial of the events, his DNA, and the enablers he surrounds himself with. Me? I’m stronger now.”
Hamilton also speaks with Tod Augusta-Scott, a highly-regarded domestic violence counsellor and researcher, who explains why speaking to Crowley would have been an important step in the process.
“Part of what I’m looking for in a guy is humility about the change process, that he’s able to put himself in his partner’s shoes, to show empathy,” Augusta-Scott said in a phone interview. “If a guy that can’t deal with the shame of the whole thing, minimizing the seriousness of the abuse or denying it all outright, those would be all warning signs, for sure.”

When informed Crowley hadn’t participated in the Manziel case, and nor was she invited to, Augusta-Scott simply stated: “That’s a big problem… If they haven’t reached out to the victim, even to see what’s going on with her, he’s not being invited to actually face the consequences and the effects of what he’s done.”

HC June Jones pushed for the trade that brought Vernon Adams to the Cats because Jones liked what he saw when he coached Adams in a US college all-star game.

Hamilton has signed three players: National LB/ST Curtis Newton who played 16 games for the Argos in 2016 and 3 in 2017 before going to the Tiger Cats where he played five games; and International DBs Frankie Williams, who played briefly for Indianapolis; and Joel Ross who was in Calgary's TC in 2017 after being on several NFL teams.

The Tiger Cats have added three more players to their roster: International QB Bryant Moniz who has previously with the Stampeders and the Riders; and International OL Casey Blaser and Will Freeman who have TC experience with NFL and/or CFL.

By signing sprinter Akeem Haynes, who won a bronze medal at the 2016 Olympics, Hamilton is taking a flyer on a player who is also 5'6" and 160 lb and only played football in high school. Most such players don't work out but if it does he could be a breakaway artist.

Hamilton re-signed Luke Tasker today. There was no way that they were going to let him get away.

That's pretty big news, one of those stories where it feels you should have seen it coming and alot of things make sense once you learn it.

Johnny Manziel has signed to play in The Spring League. It's one hell of a long drop from his salary demands to play for Hamilton to paying the league for the privilege of playing. No mention of the CFL in his quote below as he naturally sees this as an opportunity to head for the NFL afterwards.

The league, which had its inaugural season in 2017, bills itself as an “elite developmental league and scouting event for professional football talent” that aims to “provide additional opportunities for players who may have been overlooked by the NFL.” It will play a four-game season in Austin, Texas – Manziel is from nearby Tyler and played his college football at Texas A&M – from March 28 to April 15 this year.
Players are not compensated and must pay $350 to participate. The games will be broadcast on the Turner Sports’ streaming service.

Manziel provided a statement to Bleacher Report:
“Football has been a huge part of my life for as long as I can remember. Sometimes you take for granted how much you value something until it’s gone. My goal is to make it back to the NFL and I realize I have to earn that privilege. The Spring League has provided me with a great opportunity to play ball again, and ultimately, that is all I want to do. I miss the competition. I’d like to thank Brian Woods and The Spring League staff for this opportunity to play the game I love. I’ve made my share of mistakes, but I’m 25 years old and I know my best football is ahead of me.”

I don't see any significant improvements in Hamilton. Laurent, Dean and Tasker are good players they have re-signed for more money. Shorthill just another Canadian backup.
I don't know why they would go after LH, the kicking game in Hamilton was not a problem.

Shorthill is a very good player that has looked good when given a chance to play. He's also a killer on ST. Very fast LB.

Shortill had 14 ST tackles in only 10 games and is only 25 so he should be entering his most productive years and taking on an increasing role at LB.

University of Central Florida's McKenzie Milton who led UCF to a 13-0 record and a Peach Bowl victory in 2017 is probably limited in his NFL opportunities because of 5'11" height, increasing the chances he could end in Hamilton or elsewhere in the CFL.
