The following video interviews of Ticat fans found a mixed reaction to Manziel's presence on the team.

Maybe Ticat fans are tired of hearing all the hype over Manziel. Hes the new guy in town with a lot to prove, but a lot of people in the media and the fans of Manziel hype him up to be some sort of Doug Flutie type superstar in the league.
June Jones says Ticats QB Vernon Adams will be traded today
http://3downnation.com/2018/06/07/ju...-traded-today/
So Adams was not traded yesterday, and one of the teams Jones mentioned (Edmonton) denied any interest. I think Jones is a pretty good coach, but he has a tendency to make stupid public statements. The classic was saying that if Manziel came to Canada, he would be the greatest player ever to play in this league.

Sure, it *could* happen. But Jones said it *would* happen, which put way too much pressure on Manziel, not to mention being utterly disrespectful to Flutie, Moon, Jackson, Parker and every other great CFL player. (Flutie was elite by the start of Year 2. I wouldn't say he struggled in Year 1 but he did show a lot of inconsistency)

I suspect Adams asked for the trade and Jones is trying to get something instead of an outright release.
I suspect the BB with their early Nichols problem for 4-6 weeks have to do something and acquire a Glenn type backup although the Esks have said he is not available.
Agreed, the Manziel statement was stupid, talk about putting more pressure on the guy than already exists?
Ticats releases, PR.

SMH. Jones not blabbing may have helped.
Vernon Adams jr. is still with #Ticats. June Jones: "We had a couple of deals going. The agent talked to both of them and it didn't work out. I had a good text conversation (with Adams). He’s a real pro. #CFL

Frank Gansz Jr. has been named special teams coordinator for the #Ticats. #CFL. He'll mentor Craig Butler. Frank Gansz Sr. was a legendary special teams coach in the #NFL and NCAA and also head-coached the #Chiefs

June Jones says at this time Johnny Manziel will not get a special package for himself in the #Ticats offence. But in Hamilton’s practice session the back-up quarterback gets more reps than he would with other teams, about 40-50% of practice snaps #CFL

I like that the back-up in Hamilton gets a lot of reps (BC does this as well). Should anything happen to your starter your back-up is more prepared. Also helps young backups develop.
After Moniz went 3/7 for 17 yards in the Ticats second pre-season game, it is not surprising that he was cut.
Vernon Adams Jr. back on the field, but NOT working out with QB's. Technically still on the roster but obviously on his way out. #Ticats #CFL

This can't be a great situation to be in. Should have just realized him IMO; teams know that the Ticats want him moved, so now they'll just sit and wait. Ticats may get lucky though if there's a big injury.
Ticats agree to terms with RB John White

I thought they were good with Green and Timmis, but it's good to have more depth I guess.
Matt Afinec has been named President and COO of Business Operations.
http://ticats.ca/ticats-c-e-o-names-...ss-operations/“Matt is one of the top young sports executives in professional sports and has done an outstanding job in every role we’ve put him in,” said Mitchell. “He has been the lead executive in business operations the last several years, and is more than deserving of the promotion and official responsibility. As somebody with deep connections to our City and region, he’s in the perfect role to lead the Tiger-Cats’ business to even greater success moving forward.”
In his new role, Afinec will continue to oversee all facets of the Club’s business operations including ticket sales and service, corporate partnerships, marketing, communications, fan experience, guest relations, retail operations, digital/broadcast media, and community/municipal relations. Under his guidance, the Tiger-Cats have made numerous innovative additions to Tim Hortons Field to promote the social and out-of-seat viewing experience on game day, including The Stipley (Canada’s largest outdoor bar), Stripes Jungle, presented by Findlay Law (a free admission children’s playground on the concourse), Coors Banquet Bar, and more.
“I’m humbled to accept this new role with a franchise I’ve held in such high regard my entire life, in a community in which I’ve proudly spent most of my life,” said Afinec. “I’d like to thank Bob Young and Scott Mitchell for the opportunity, and also thank our tremendous fans and partners for whom it is a great honor to work on behalf of. I’m extremely proud of the business operations team we’ve assembled and as a group we will continue in our tireless efforts to make a positive impact in the Hamilton community each and every day.”
In 2014, Afinec was recognized by George Brown College, the Globe and Mail, and TSN as one of the ‘5 to Watch’ under the age of 40 in Canadian Sports Business. Afinec, a Burlington native with deep family ties to the east-end Stipley neighborhood in which Tim Hortons Field is located, graduated from McGill University. He joined the Tiger-Cats in 2010 as Vice President, Stadium Development, and was a member of the executive team that represented the Tiger-Cats in the development of the Pan Am stadium. Afinec led the Club’s efforts to secure a landmark naming rights partnership with Tim Hortons in 2013 and the strategic efforts on stadium founding partnerships and ticketing/hospitality plans to launch the venue. In his previous role as Executive Vice President, Business Operations, he has led the Club’s business efforts since 2015.
Cats are trying Adams at receiver -- he supposedly wants this. Yeah right.
