Heading into training camp Lirim Hajrullahu is the only kicker on the roster and Dave Stala, last year's emergency kicker is not listed, so this could present a big problem if Lirim is injured in TC or the regular season.
http://www.cfl.ca/2016/05/20/milanov...on-hajrullahu/Scott Milanovich says he’s not losing any sleep over his kicking game.
The Argos are going all in with Lirim Hajrullahu, the only kicker currently on the roster who Milanovich says is expected to take on kickoff duties along with the role of place kicker and punter for the team in 2016.
While the 26-year-old had his struggles throughout last season, Milanovich has no qualms leaning on the veteran’s leg late in games this year.
“We’ve got some other things in mind, but Lirim’s our guy,” said Milanovich, asked about the Argos’ kicking game during a season preview teleconference earlier in the week. “That’s what I told him when we signed him in free agency.
“He doesn’t need to look over his shoulder.”
I don't understand, or like, this (lack of) strategy.
There's a reason this guy was released by the Bombers. He was missing easy field goals and converts.
This could end up biting the Argos in the ass.
Tons of kickers who had great careers had poor seasons along the way. It is way too early to get worried about Lirim IMO.

I gotta ask - are you trying to get your post count up or something ?
I agree we need a backup kicker. I'm just not prepared to b**ch about Haj based on some bad misses he had in his second year after a sensational rookie season.

That I agree with Paul, give the guy a chance, he has proven to be a good kicker in the past so no reason to believe he can't get his form back.
One would think that the Argonauts would be extra diligent in having depth after last years revolving door kicking debacle.

I did not see your post. However, your post only gave the url for the article. I could have written my comment that Milanovich's statement that he has no intention of bringing in another kicker is worrying without using any quotation, but felt that giving my comment a context was worth including.

Hajrullahu doesn't have an injury issues and Waters IMO took the cake when it came to injuries (I've never seen a kicker get injured as often as Waters did), but I suppose Lirim like any other player is a risk for potential injury. If an injury does occur then the Argonauts are in deep doo doo. I just hope Barker does a better job at finding a replacement than he did last season.
From what Milanovich said this week, they will bring another kicker in as depth but Hajrullahu is THE guy heading into the season.
Chad Kelly + Dan Adeboboye + David Ungerer + Damonte Coxie + DaVaris Daniels + Dejon Brissett = Unstoppable Force
I could see Stala skipping camp and then signing right afterwards.

Agreed - big-time. I believe Pfeffer has potential as both a punter and place kicker - why did they not put him on the PR or stash him on the IR ???
Should sign another kicker for TC competition and depth; bound to be some decent FAs (NI or imports) out there; there is a kicker from Ottawa - Sean Decloux - who was the place kicker for Maine in US college ball including his Senior season last year - believe he should have been CFL draftable this past draft, but heard zero mention of his name in any CFL draft talk.
11-18 on FG's last season and only 2 punts in his college career doesn't exactly scream "draft me". I read an article saying he was looking to be a duo purpose kicker, but I guess he didn't win the punting job. Maybe he'll get a FA look somewhere.
