I'm going to Ottawa for charity work for Canada150 and all the hotel rooms are gone. Our host has a block of room I have access to for $700/night minimum two nights.

For the Grey Cup week we have booked a suite at the Novotel next to the Weston Hotel - Grey Cup HQ. We're paying $300. All the hotels have rooms too with exception to CFL HQ. Travelocity shows room between $150 upwards depending on distance and quality. If I were younger or more flexible, I'd look at some of the nice looking B&Bs. They're less than $100.

We are going to Ottawa for a couple of games this summer and in the past we have stayed at the Residence at St Paul University. Not bad rates, 2 Bedroom suite and you get free parking there, it's half way between Lansdowne and the downtown just a block from the canal. We always walk from there to the stadium.

We love the Residence Inn. Our daughter has Autism, and when we travel as a full family, we're fortunate to be able to afford the luxury of a 2 bdrm suite. The free breakfast alone makes the bill palatable. We've often found Mon -Thurs. free suppers and beer and wine across the USA. Big Marriott fans as a result.

Not to be confused with the Residence Inn - it's the Residence at St Paul University on Main Street. A lot of people forget that there are 3 universities in Ottawa.
It's only available until September when the students come back.
