Sucks to see so many seats still available. I honestly thought the Home Opener would sell out easily.

Love the east side - it's pretty warm right now, but come fall it will be great to have some sun.
WRT water - the "bar" areas were filling up cups and people's water bottles with ice water - no charge

I don't know about anyone else, but I was also happy to see we have our own cups.

Agreed. Someone posted that these also came with free refills. I hope to collect a few before the season is over.

I guess that choosing Hamilton for the Home Opener was the right choice after all then.

Hopefully a good walkup or more folks from Hamilton. I hope that the new owners now realize that it'll take time to rebuild the fan base. They should have started the marketing campaign right from the get go. I've said it before and got mocked but it's true. They thought it would be sell out after sell out.

I like the cups!!!! Once again nice to see Argo only cups.

This should speed the sellout. Just announced for the halftime entertainment - Frank D'Angelo and the Styleboyz singing "Songs of your father's in today's rap style cuz I like them that way?". Can't wait.

Having this game on a Thursday could be a big mistake, especially since they're really pushing the tailgate, I think a weekend game would've made the most sense. If you"re trying to market a party don't plan it on a work night. I still think they can get a sell out. I really...really don't want to hear the haters in the media if it's not.

Yeah it seems odd that the first regular season game @ BMO Field isn't on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday. I wonder if it was a TSN request?

The Argos early season schedule is bizarre.
    Thursday, Thursday, Thursday, Wednesday, Monday.
Just weird to have no Friday or weekend games for 5 weeks.

I can't believe people are worried about this. You know the Hamilton people will be coming in on game day. Sellout 100% guaranteed. And i don't think the media will be too harsh in the next few games if they are a couple thou short of a sellout -- IF the team is winning.

What we have to worry about is if the Argos start the season flat and go 2-6 or something, because then the haters will really pour it on. Same old Argos!

Please, let me mock you some more. Nobody starts a marketing campaign from the get go. A good marketing campaign takes months and months of planning and hard work. They built a new front office from scratch, everything takes time. They would have been fools to run some half-assed or half-finished branding during hockey and basketball season, it would have been like throwing money out the window. Where do you get the idea they thought it would be sellout after sellout?

I didn't just pull that out of thin air. They thought that they'd have no problems selling out BMO. I can't remember the guy who kept saying that. Just by being outside in a so called perfect football stadium.

They could have had print ads and billboards to start right from the get go. No reason what they couldn't have. It didn't have to be cheesy. Hell I find the tv ads cheesy now but I'm 53 not 23. I'm not who they're trying to attract.

I liked the dome! BMO is a step backwards and yes I will attend games at BMO because it is what it is and soon it will be a one team stadium when TFC folds up shop.

Obviously just another little smart ass on this F'd site. If it isn't Bone it's the next one in line.
never once did i call you a "suck"......covered seats or not, i would still be out there supporting my team...i have been down to buffalo and several other open stadiums in -30, extreme rain, brutal winds....i have experienced that weather....i have no problem sitting in it!

i am not trying to troll you dude, i have a lot more important things in my life...i simply gave my reasons as to why i didnt like the atmosphere at the dome...period..

I'm pretty sure you are referring to Michael Copeland, who repeatedly said that the goal was to sell out every game. No one from the team has ever said -- and I suggest no one has ever even thought -- that they'd have "no problems" selling out.

30+ years of neglect won't be erased overnight, this rebuild will be a marathon not a sprint, they're on the right track!!

It took the Ticats about 11 years to get to where they are now and in the black. I like the fact that Copeland has acknowledged that it's only year one and that they realize there's a lot of work to be done.

Before the season I also thought it would be easy. Then I saw single game ticket prices and figured it wouldn't be so easy.
