The only time soccer comes into my mind is on here. Didn't grow up with it as it was a total zero sport when I was young. A few people played but it wasn't the big sport. Many 20 and 30 something's played the sport because it was easy for parents to toss them into a simple sport needing no equipment other then perhaps those little shin guards. We've had a ton of people come to this country from soccer loving nations. Their kids grow up with the love of the sport so they now have a team that they can go and watch and feel and act like fans in Europe with the chanting and the like. Good for them. As long as the Canadian men's team is horrible most people in Canada won't cling on to the sport. Canada in soccer is like China in hockey. HORRIBLE!!! I think we should actually ditch the men's national program as well as basketball. Both useless. As far as TFC they have nothing to troll about. They are an upstart team with nothing to get cocky about. I own tee shirts older then this team. The only fans they have are the ones going to games. They'll see how fickle the TO market is.

What I'd rather not see here is a 166 page TFC hate thread like they have for the Argos and CFL, which is their most popular thread and truly pathetic that they are more concerned with perpetuating that than their own team.

I agree with Argoknot here. I'm not going to lock this thread because it hasn't fallen off the rails and I don't want it to appear that discussion about other sports is prohibited, but would ask that people use their best judgment in deciding whether or not to perpetuate TFC discussion on here because even with T-Bone not here it inevitably leads to toxicity.

Shouldn't there be a games sections to talk about games including soccer and golf. They are more like games then sport. Not everyone can play football, rugby, baseball, lacrosse, hockey to name a few but anyone can play soccer and golf. You don't need athletic ability. Many are athletic but it's not a must. You can hit a ball from a golf cart and kick a ball from a wheel chair. Make a games section please and keep this talk from the sports area??

Interesting tweet from Chris Zelkovich that shows a big double standard. Check out the Argo TV rating and people claim it is not as good as it should be. Check out the TFC rating and it's no issue at all. Now imagine what would happen at Rogers media outlets if the Argos pulled in the TFC number.

Some questions need to be asked:
.Why are TFC fans so obsessed with CFL/Argos? 5000+ posts on their site re Argos--what's that all about?
.Will advertisers continue to pay for games only reaching 38,000? What can be done about this?
.MLS discriminates against Canadians, in that American players are domestic in both countries but not Canadians--why aren't Canadian TFC fans complaining about this affront?
I don't dislike soccer. I grew up with the sport, going to Premier League games with my dad as a kid. I can appreciate the game even if I'm not a fan. However, it's time for TFC fans to be honest with themselves and others and accept there are two teams sharing BMO and fans of both teams should respect the other team. We both want our teams to be successful on the field (pitch) and financially. Perhaps there is some way for the CFL/Argos to push for more fans to watch TFC and TFC fans might compliment and recognize the popularity of the CFL. Hers hoping for co-operation in the future.
