The problem with Milanovich is that it's always the same old with him - slow starts and checkdown heavy offense. Milanovich has been here since 2012; he's not new to the team or the majority of the players. His system has been the same essentially since the beginning and hasn't won a playoff game since the Grey Cup in 2012. It is only week 2 though, so patience is probably needed, but tbh I've lost all patience with Milanovich and his checkdown heavy offense.

As for who we could have had besides Milanovich - Benevides was available all of last season, and he could have brought in Chapdelaine to run the offense this season. Bene as HC, Chaps a OC, Stubs as DC and McDiarmid as ST coordinator would have been my selections.
Didn't Benevides just give up 45 points and nearly 600 yards of offense to Ottawa?
I wasn't impressed with him in BC, but that is kind of an unfair assessment because he was Wally's puppet.

Now we have Stubler; who likes vets. If Stubler can stick around for at least 3 years we should be fine, but there will always be some turnover - 25% was the norm IIRC.
Some turnover is indeed healthy for a team.

But Harris actually was mediocre in six of his last seven starts. The one exception was the second game in Ottawa where he completed the late TD pass (one of five he threw) to Owens. Otherwise his stat lines were mediocre: 200/0/1, 211/1/1, 257/2/2, 182/2/1, 260/1/3, 102/0/1. Six TD passes , eight INTs in those six games, no 300-yard games and two games below 200 yards. His "slump" began in August, long before our road-game odyssey began.

Absolutely correct Paul. It may be the team around him lost confidence in him. He also ended up leading the league in interceptions thrown, which is never mentioned unlike the fact that he led the league in TD passes. IMO, turnovers are the biggest influence in who wins and loses games.

The context here is relevant and nested: (a long season of very trying circumstances (Milano-ball (the team (Harris))))
