The States is sick and needs help. Wake up NRA and Republicans!!!!!

To wake up every morning in this great country and see the news from our southern neighbours is sickening. The day to day gun play is bad enough and now we have this incident in Dallas. Targeting Police killing 5 and injuring 6. WTF is going on. Many in the US would believe that if the Police were in tanks with cannons attached this wouldn't have happened.

One way to stop this and get the attention of law makers is for the rest of the world to stop travelling to the US. I'm pretty sure losing those tourist dollars would be an eye opener. I know it's a simplistic view but something has to happen. I personally gave up going south as my last trip there was in 96 for a CFL game. We have a great beautiful friendly, safe country here and I still haven't been to Newfoundland and the three Territories.

Really Ron. That's so ridiculous!!!! Do we see multiple mass shootings in Toronto weekly? Holy shit!!!!

It's not about being afraid to go anywhere. It's about how F'ed up the US is and their antiquated 'Right To Bare Arms'. Pretty sure the fore fathers didn't mean assault rifles to slaughter people. The only way they care if is people stop using the US as a travel destination. Hit them where it hurts. If foreigners stopped spending their money in a country that obviously doesn't really want to fix their issues it might open some eyes. It's the only thing I can think of. Nothing else seems to matter as mass murders happen at least twice a week there. I guess some people just take a stand and other just go on not giving a shit. To me it's a matter of not supporting a place like the USA has become. I'd rather spend my hard earned money in Canada.

The only issues I've had travelling have been in the US. Once outside of a bar in Pitt while Police watched and did squat and another in Buffalo. My buddy got us lost in his new Z28 and we ended up in a real rough area. We got pulled over by a police officer who had his gun drawn. Not fun.

The NRA and Republicans are all a bunch of total jackwads!!!!

People are killed everywhere in Canada.
How do you arbitrarily pick Toronto as a killing field?

They are killed everywhere but nothing compares to the mass killings that happen weekly in the US. Plus three more Police Officers have been shot since last night in Dallas. Unbelievable.

Because I live here. If I lived in Saskatchewan I'd make that same statement if the topic was about rampaging killer cows.

Hurting the tourist industry is not going to affect the senseless violence. The dollar already is doing a fine job keeping Canadians home. Some of the nicest people I have met that come to my mind where in Texas, Missouri and Tennessee. America is still one of the best countries to visit for an awesome combination of entertainment, history, landmarks and yes, even safety.

Something has to wake up the political types as this so called safe country has mass killings on a way too regular basis. Targeting Police Officers is a new low. I agree that there are great people and I've been treated like gold on trips south. I've also had issues that I never have in Canada. I tend to take a stand on things, always have and always will. I don't support big box stores or buy Chinese Crap. I've cut friend lose for acting like F's towards women etc. It's the only child rebel punk side of me. haha. Tourists not going to Disney would spark a conversation brought up be Disney and other tourist like institutions. I'm not that off the mark as The Bahamas has issued a US travel warning to it's citizens. The types of places I enjoying going wouldn't be safe in the US. I've hit some sketchy areas to see bands. Drunken walking back to my Vancouver hotel at 2am after being let of a bar into an east side ally. That gets iffy in the US. I don't do tourist traps.
Anyhow I was just sounding off as watching the news as I do brings thoughts about how that friggin country south of us could ever get it's head out of it's ass.

I'll stick to travel in my country. Perhaps hit Newf or PEI. I hear that a few good folks live on that hick potato eating island. It's actually not officially an island anymore as they have a bridge.

It's not only the US. For the past few years female news and sportscasters in Canada have exercised the Right to Bare Arms. it is incumbent on them to keep their upper body well toned though. I'm noticing that the fad seems to be fading as the fashion changes.

It's patronizing statements like that that make Maritimers tend to question the intelligence of Central Canadians.

Most PEIers don't even eat potatoes they get their potato fix through potato vodka. No joke they have a good distillery creating that great product. I prefer the other one creating the blueberry vodka. I'm obviously joking as I love PEI. We have two friends who live there. Right Dare?

Come on down to KC, 1argoholic. You can eat at a different BBQ place every day for 6 months. We have some pretty good microbrews as well.

I would recommend a tour of the Boulevard brewery since you are interested in Microbrews. Tour is free, and you get four free small samples afterwards. Then, head to LC's for some old school bbq.
