What is a reasonable attendance expectation? 17K?
This game should get plenty of media attention as it will be the only sporting event basically going on in North America that day.

Nay sir, thou doth disrespect the viewing juggernaut that is MLS!
6 games being played Wednesday night, including Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver, and Kansas City.
And I'm sure that Rogers Sportsnet here in Canada (aka MLB Canada Network) will be falling over themselves "analyzing" Tuesday night's MLB all-star game. ALL DAY.
No idea what to expect for attendance at a Wednesday, non-holiday game tbh.
Over 20K. The Jays can get 40K down mid week ... so the Argos can get 20K
20 k would be good.
I think they will have 20-22
It's us vs the rest of the country
i would say 19k.
'm at the TFC game right now (free tickets) and its only 60% full on a weekend, so hard to say.
I'm thinking around 16-17 thousand, but I think 20 is possible.
I'm just very glad we didn't waste money on seasons this year. This type of talk wasn't suppose to happen this year. Hopefully it's just a one off because of the stadium build and TFC having to start so many games on the road. Games during the week would suck for us but if you live in the GTA you should be able to hit games fairly easily. I'd say 22,000.
Actually there were 27,934 in attendance yesterday at BMO for TFC
As for the Argos, we are driving down from Collingwood. Can't believe the negativity because it's a Wednesday night, I was at the home opener on a Thurs night great time. If you love the CFL you attend games, all games can't be Saturday afternoon in the sun.
It'd be great to see the Argos trending to average something north of 25,000 (or even 24,000) per game.
I was at the TFC game yesterday and I doubt very highly there were 28,000 in attendance. Maybe tickets distributed, but the place was probably 3/4 full. It was noticeably less full than the Argos home opener. I have been to a number of TFC games, and this is pretty common to overstate attendance.
i had 8 kids there for a birthday for my son. The game itself was fine, if somewhat boring. The most disturbing thing by far, however, happened when we were leaving. We were waiting to go into the GO train tunnel to cross the tracks with quite a few other people when about 6-8 TFC "fans" with masks on decided to show up and create their own mosh pit right beside us and hundreds of others waiting to enter the tunnel. It was actually pretty scary when you have a bunch of kids with you and these guys are body checking each other. The scariest thing was that they were wearing masks-- and not the Darth Vader fun masks that Argos fans wear-- these were Black Bloc type masks. My wife said she will never go to another TFC game as long as she lives, and the kids were kind of freaked out. Some people are just such assholes.
Well 6 of us are going so we're doing our part.
:-)
i was at the TFC game yesterday. it was very empty at the start but around 30min mark 60%, maybe 70%. i am guessing around 20-22ish. much less than argos first game.
FYI i read recently somewhere there are only a little over 27000 seats at BMO. The difference between TFC and Argos set up is 1200 seats. So the number is made up by TFC and total bullshit. As well, the east side is primarily corporate and MLSE giveaways. Thats how i get my tickets for TFC games ... i would really pay a cent for MLS.

So why and who would make up the attendance figures? it's the same owners as the Argos and the same people managing the stadium, would MLSE make up numbers for TFC?
Does that mean we shouldn't believe the Argo attendance figures either?
It's just over 30k for soccer and 25k for CFL football
If you want to act like a jackass and hit a moshpit then go see a punk show. You have to know when it's appropriate and when you're being a tool.
