I like the statement from Milo that they won't see any drop in production from the offense after cutting the big three. Very true. They should be able to kick 3 or 4 field goals.

In the resulting purge I hope that we keep Stubler. He has done an amazing job rebuilding his defence on an almost weekly basis and surviving some of the most ridiculous penalties ever called in the cfl. Injuries to the back 9 have really hurt us. A continous shuffle of players produced tgevinevitable result. I would blame Milanovich for the lack of team discipline and lack of motivation. And he made some errors during games tgat betrayed a lack of situational awareness. He should hire a new OC and stay out of it. Let the O C do his job cause we do need a totally new offensive game plan. I think Barker has done a good job of getting good players so I would keep him. He has got us a ton of really good canadian talent which is critical to our long term success. We need to write this season off as an onjury riddled saga with some unexpected poor personnel performances. We wouldnt have expected Josh Bourque to be the bust he was. And losing Ricky Ray to injury sealed our fate early on.
I don't know why SM and Barker keep with the mantra this is Drew Willy's team now. Last year it was Rays team. Harkens back to the Cleo Lemon era. After that, only by firing himself as HC, did Barker keep his GM job. I believe Barker and SM should live or die with this strategy. If Willy is to be released before his January bonus, I hope it is done by another HC and GM.
Agree with you.
With the horrible effort and especially the instability at the QB position, there should be no player certainty and there has be a short leash on Willy.
Dan should have several packages coming off the bench to utilize his legs and which will keep the D honest.
But that makes way too much sense and that's why Milanovich will never implement.
Instead of continuing by being stubborn as per norm just like the last game with Willy.
TJ Heath 1st start. In the first in his first game has another interception and +30 YAC. He hasn't lost it in Winnipeg.
Winnipeg's D is dominating the Leos and them to 3 points. Offense very creative and have put up 24 points in 1 1/2 quarters. A total absence of 3 yard completions.

No way do we let Stubler go. He has had to rebuild the D on a weekly basis and has done an amazing job, it could have gone a lot better if the Offense would have been more consistent to enable the defense to get some rest during the game rather than playing fatigued most of the time.
The offense has actually done OK with time of possession; we have an average drive length of 2:05 vs. 2:00 for our opponent. I haven't seen much evidence of fatigue on defense.
Did you watch the rest of the game? That pick was a fluke...a ball that should have been caught by Sinkfield. Arcenaux owned him all day. He lined up across Manny all game and Manny had 10 catches for 150. That was exactly what Heath did as an Argo. Made a few picks but was beat for a lot of big plays as well. I think it is so overblown how bad this trade was for the Argos.
It's us vs the rest of the country
Yeah - the D-backfielders the Argos are trotting out there instead of Heath are way better - LOL
I wouldn't have given up that 3rd rounder down the road for a mediocre QB talent like Willy; let alone Heath AND a 1st rounder next year; but 1st round draft picks are such a "crap-shoot" anyhow, and besides Barker & Millanovich are always right.
I agree that pick was a fluke, but if you were offered a starting player that was leading the league in any category after 3/4's of the season you'd have to think twice! Throw in a 1st round pick and a 3rd round pick and you'd think you'd died and went to heaven.
Because you have depth doesn't mean you can be wasteful and part four current starters and two future starters. Typical disasterous transition when you gut your current team and future prospects on your way out the door. They certainly are a better team today vs the team two weeks ago, right!
How many of Heath's INTs this season were gifts or tips?

One could always say Heath was lucky just in the right place at the right time. But there is an old saying in Football " that player has a nose for the Ball" or "they're always around the Ball". With those type of players it isn't luck. I haven't seen Heath play enough to put him in that category yet, but he could be one of those types. Natural instincts and anticipating where the ball is going.
