I wasn't exactly happy that Milo quit last game by not kicking the FG with 3 min to go. And I have railed on receivers not being open all year which points just as much at them as it does the system they are in. (I just feel bad for QB's getting so much blame when it's not on them)[/QUOTE]
Yes Ron you have expressed my feelings well. As a level-two STH I have a good view of the whole field, and was just stunned at how nobody was ever open, most of the time...yes the system as you point out has to be a major problem.
Agreed. Just look at the Points Allowed in the current standings. After this Bye Week is finished, it will be even clearer. I mean come on, even if Sask. allows 50 pts. against this week, the Argos D will still be last in Pts. Allowed.
To say nothing of Time of Possession, don't even want to know that stat...
For sure. All the pass defence statistics need to be taken into account here. Teams can pass against this Argos secondary if they have to.
But, the run defence of his teams from 04-06 were not great. The difference was that QB's back then had Byron Parker, Kenny Wheaton, Chuck Winters, Clifford Ivory, Orlondo Steinauer, Khalil Carter, Jordan Younger and Adrion Smith facing them down in the secondary.

I'm convinced the Stamps could have scored at will on Friday, but chose to work on some things rather than go all out trying to pile up the points. Teams weren't as patient on offence then either. Stubler's philosophy was that teams won't be patient enough to put together 10 play drives and he was correct. Offence has changed now, and for the most part all teams are taking what's given to them. That's when you need to step up. Argos didn't get a key 2 and out all year.
It's us vs the rest of the country
Stubler has failed miserably this season IMO. Is the overall talent there on defence ? I don't think so, but it's on Stubler to fit and tweak his system to make the most out of the players skill sets, and I don't think he's done that. Stubler relies way too much on Veterans, and it bit him in the behind this season.
Yes it is, and Stubler disciple Orlondo Steinauer's system in Hamilton ain't looking to great either.
That's my point though, Stubler's system relies heavily on top notch type veterans to read and pick up the right assignments, he didn't have any this season, and instead of simplifying his defence and/or making the necessary changes, he stuck to his ways and it blew up in his face.
I would want a totally new offensive system.
