And again according to TSN CFL insiders, Milanovich could also land in Montreal if relieved of his duties here. It would be a good move by Montreal to bring in Ray, I'd still like to see him stick around in double blue (just not as the starter).
If Chapdelaine sticks around as head coach in Montreal, I don't see any way that Ray goes there. Ray and Chapdelaine got along as well as oil and water back in 2007 in Edmonton. Ray is still under contract for another season in Toronto and I fully expect to see him as an Argo once again in 2017.
Cameron Dukes + Dan Adeboboye + Kevin Mital + David Ungerer + Damonte Coxie + DaVaris Daniels + Dejon Brissett = Unstoppable Force

don't know where else to put this little tidbit. Chatted with the infamous (around here anyways) TJ Heath at Touchdown Manitoba on Friday. Nice guy, only really bitter over the timing of the trade, seemed to be fine with the business side of things and what not. said he's under contract in Winnipeg now another year as well. I thanked him for his part in what was the highlight of the 2016 Argos season (that sept. 11 game vs. Hamilton).

    This quote ticks me off.
"Scott Milanovich has quietly told some people he wouldn’t mind being fired as coach of the Argos Three reasons for that. One, he doesn’t love the setup with the Argos. Two, he has two years guaranteed left on his contract. Three, if he gets another job, he’ll be able to double dip with the Argos deal"
Doesn't like the setup with the Argos?? Many fans don't like how he handled the QB's!!!!
Good riddance, I wish the Argos could get out of paying him.

If this is even true, at least he's honest. I sure wouldn't mind getting paid a good salary for being out of work or "double dipping", if another job comes calling.

It might be nice for a couple years, but if there was any suspicion that he threw the balance of the season that may be his last pay cheque in football. Even a very good CFL coaching contract would be hard to live with for very long for any 43 year old.

Lawless tweeting the notion that Copeland's review is of structure more than personnel, and he might hire a football czar who would decide the fates of Barker and Milanovich. Maybe Hufnagel would want that job? Popp certainly wouldn't be my choice.

I'm not sure I get this. I was always under the impression that the General Manager was the football czar.

It's all in the "titles." In sports sometimes the "President" is an "*insert sport* guy" and sometimes he isn't (like Copeland or Nicholson), although typically the Argos president isn't.

Too add to that, many companies have more than one president assigned to be the guy in different aspects of that company. I guess the thinking is to get a president of Football Ops, that the GM would directly report to.

As a certain WWE wrestler would put it....not a good guy, not a bad guy, just THE guy. (followed by a bunch of morons booing him).

The model might be Leafs with Shanahan over Lamoriello.

Football "czar"... ridiculous. The last thing the Argonauts require is another level of hierarchy.

If Copeland is planning to have a President of football operations, then why not just add the title to the next GM,- as Leweike did with Ujiri ? It's looking as though either Ownership wants the structure this way or Copeland isn't confident enough to watch over the football operations side of things, so he essentially wants someone to help him. IMO it still comes down to whether or not Ownership and Copeland trust Barker to be the guy, which it's looking like they don't hence why an overseer is essentially being looked at - Buono, Hufnagel, Jones, and Austin all have "final say" over football matters btw.

If Copeland is looking at things structurally as opposed to personnel, then IMO Copeland's is in over his head, and maybe not the person that should have the top job with the team.

This is slowly becoming Copeland fiddles while Rome burns.
It's coming up to a month since the team last played.
First it was suggested the so called moratorium during the playoffs and GC for not announcing or making moves, but what the hell is the excuse now.
If the team is going to gas any combination of Copeland, Barker or Milanovich you would think announcement(s) should be made in order to create potential interest in replacement(s).
Surely the team is not trying to find replacements before making moves?
Like the entire year to include the GC pricing fiasco, it seems like nothing comes natural in this keystone cops mentality.

How about Michael "Pinball" Clemons as new Argos czar? Many similarities with Shanahan.

I was starting to think the same thing. But then all is quiet on the Argo front, as usual. Maybe whoever is in charge doesn't want to fire anybody until they find out if they're going to be in charge. Maybe Tanenbaum and TSN are not agreeing on who should be in charge. The possibilities are endless.

P.S. Whatever happened to that rumour a couple of years ago that Mark Cohon was going to be hired as the head honcho.

Pinball doesn't seem to want to be hands on to an everyday job with the Argos because of all his other ventures. Seems to be content to still help out by showing up at a few practices and games or functions (they still have a few of those don't they).

His wife didn't like the Willy trade (I wonder if that was her opinion only) lol
